(MSF) is an independent international medical humanitarian organization
providing assistance to people affected by armed conflicts, epidemics, natural
or non-natural disasters or persons excluded from access to health care. The
organization has health projects in more than 68 countries.
MSF is looking to fill the
position of a Mobile Health Activity Manager based in Homa Bay. The successful
candidate reports to the Medical Team Leader and supervises COs, Nurses and
counsellors in the health facilities and the mobile team.
Objective of the Position:
Defining, coordinating and
monitoring all mobile health (including Palliative and Primary health care)
activities to support health programs (Chronic Diseases) according to MSF
protocols, standards and procedures in order to ensure quality medical care for
patients and their communities and to improve the health condition of the
population.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying
the needs of mobile health support in the target population and
participating in the definition, planning, and updating of the appropriate
MSF strategy and the mobile health activities and its budget. Performing
initial data collection and establishing baseline criteria, analyzing
data, mapping potential problems and documenting lessons learned
- Supervising
mobile health activities. Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the
tools and coordinating the implementation of the mobile health activities
in order to provide the most appropriate support to the target population.
- Planning
and supervising, in close coordination with the HR department, the
associated processes (team composition, recruitment, training/induction,
briefing/debriefing, evaluation, detection of potential, motivation,
capacity building, internal communication) of the staff under his/her
responsibility, in order to ensure having the appropriate team in terms of
size, capabilities and skills
- Participating
in the definition of annual planning and budget for the project and in the
follow-up of the programs/project.
- Provide
medical support and coordination to palliative care activities: Ensure an
efficient and supportive continuum of palliative care from hospitalbased
to home-based care, and that care is provided with ultimate dignity and
respect to patient needs and rights based on established palliative care
guidelines and standards.
- Provide
medical support and coordination, in collaboration with the Minister of
Health, to the chronic disease activity: Ensure adherence to chronic
disease protocols on enrollment and comprehensive chronic disease care.
- Ensuring
continuous networking and search for partners to guarantee the achievement
of mobile Health deployment through partnership. Reinforce patient
referral, linkages and follow-up mechanisms based on existing resources.
- Work
together with the Pharmacy Manager, Lab Manager, M & E Manager,
Community Engagement Manager and other Managers in various aspects toward
meeting project objectives.
- Ensure
the Safety of patients and actively participate in prevention, reporting
and management of any abuse or misbehavior towards patients
- External
representation of MSF with partners (MoH and other implementing partners)
on key thematics centered around mobile health activities.
- Due
to the nature of MSF activities; other duties as assigned by the
Supervisor/Line Manager like participating in emergency response as needed.
Requirements:
Education
- Diploma/Degree
in Medicine.
Knowledge & Experience
- Mandatory: Minimum of at least 2 years
working experience in a similar position. Previous experience of at least
2 years with MSF or other NGOs in developing countries. Proficient in the
use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office 365).
