Position: Wholesale Manager
Location: Nairobi
Salary: 100K plus bonus

Our client is an e-commerce platform with a distribution
solution to serve the market in deep rural areas.
They are currently looking to hire a Wholesale Manager who will
ensure business sales and gross profit targets in wholesale business are
achieved
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage, plan and
coordinate the wholesale officers and logistics officer for sales, distribution
and route planning.
· Manage direct reportees
in line with company performance management policy and procedures.
· Ensure we sell to end
retailers and end consumers and issue detailed analysis of the performance of
each route in terms of sales, gross profit and costs after every trip.
Profitability reporting per truck
· Responsible for
providing a monthly and yearly sales and distribution plan and making revisions
and providing updates to the plan in line with the business goals / targets.
· Identify opportunities
for growth and introduce new sales channels, establishing sales plans to
achieve better overall performance and also increase sales and profits.
· Project expected sales
volumes and profit versus current performance to put in place emergency
mitigation plans to still achieve the same target.
· Regular market analysis
(price, brand, market, competition) to ensure the business adapts its market
dynamics in time.
· Ensure product supply
chain processes and standards are followed and conducted optimally.
· Liaise with strategy and
business development functions to establish direct market development and sales
distribution pipelines in order to build the company’s footprint e.g. sign up
key retailers and distributors.
· Optimize marketing to
sales lead management.
· Ensure all sales cash
are banked and all stocks balance as per the system stocks per wholesale
officer per each return trip.
· Monitor stock movement from
suppliers to different channels including trucks and shops.
· Evaluate and analyze
types of customers who shop at the wholesale, basket value, the occasion they
shop for, the brand they prefer, price consciousness, packing size preferred
etc.
· Ensure to concentrate on
fast moving stock and to limit the number of slow moving SKUs to ensure the
company runs on lean processes and costs.
· Ensure implementation of
FIFO policy and minimize damages and expiries of goods.
· Be responsible for
return management.
· Fleet management and
planning e.g. weight, routing, fuel, truck hire, staff, service providers among
others
· Drive analytics based
reporting on all metrics e.g. product margins, customers numbers , route ,
truck profitability.
· Customer reward
programme and standard discount policy among others
Key Qualifications:
· Must have a bachelor’s
degree in business marketing, sales and any business related field
· Must have at least 3
years working experience in sales and distribution in the FMCG industry.
· Must have lead or
supervised a team
· Business relationship
skills and multicultural understanding
· Business acumen and
sound understanding of best performing practices in the industry
· Very good understanding
of distribution delivery platforms
· Knowledge of the
dynamics of consumer and business sectors across different markets.
· Able to influence sales
from distributors, mini supermarkets, retailers and other customers
· Inventory management
skills
· Cash management skills
· Highly motivated and
ability to travel and work in remote areas with rough and tough terrains
· Excellent communication
skills both verbal and written skills
· Well organized and great
time management
· Able to work in a
fast-paced environment
