Textile Spinning Technician
Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing
training for trainees and supervising textile operatives on using the
machinery.
- Preparing
training materials
- Installing
and testing new spinning machinery
- Undertaking
quality evaluations of materials and checking the quality of the final
product
- Operating
and maintaining spinning machinery.
- Diagnosing
mechanical problems, isolating faulty parts and reporting to the
appropriate manager.
- Ordering
replacement parts or, in some cases, making new parts.
- Reassembling
machines, returning each to full working order.
- Producing
spinning products/yarn.
- Evaluating,
identifying and selecting fiber/products from suppliers.
- Maintaining
accurate documentation and records for work completed, usually on
computers.
Qualifications
- A
minimum of Bachelor Degree in fields related to Textile engineering and
technology or related to TVET in Ginning and spinning technology.
- Certificate
in teaching methodology/pedagogy.
- Certificate
in computer skill.
- Minimum
of one year working experience in textile and apparel industry and/or
teaching experience in TVET program/or in Manufacturing sectors.
