Job Description

  • Maintain a current inventory of all goods in the store.
  • Issue all tools required each morning to the workers and recover the same every evening. A fine system will be introduced for anybody who does not return a tool on time or who loses a tool.
  • Follow up on losses & damaged tools – informing the manager of who to deduct money from in event of this.
  • If you cannot account for missing/damaged tools the cost of replacement will be met by you.
  • Issuing chemicals/pesticides in liaison with external departmental heads.
  • Safeguarding seeds, chemicals, and fertilizers in the store by using accurate and non-defective tools. Also, proper chemical measuring jars to avoid spillages.
  • Liaise with departmental heads to place requisitions when the re-order level is reached.
  • Advise the Production manager in case you find anomalies in any chemical or pesticide.
  • Ensuring there are no expired chemicals/pesticides in the store.
  • You must dilute the chemicals before issuing them for spraying as per the specification.
  • No chemical should be issued without prior authorization from the departmental head and there must be a signed document for authorization.
  • Immediately report to your supervisor in case of chemical/pesticide spillage in large quantities.
  • Ensure proper disposal of empty containers is done as per the company policy.
  • Ensuring fire-fighting equipment at the store is in good working condition.
  • Ensuring safety precautions are always followed while issuing chemicals/pesticides.
  • Ensure proper arrangement of goods at the stores.
  • Ensure the store is well-locked after work.
  • Stocktaking every week indicating stock balances of goods.
  • Ensuring a clean, neat, and well-maintained working environment Conservation of the general environment/ surroundings by keeping work areas clean and tidy.
  • Producing daily and weekly written reports indicating goods/items issued through the use of bin cards.
  • Ensure plant compliance with sanitation procedures and safety programs.
  • Report to the supervisor anything that may hinder better performance and/or any signs of danger detected.
  • Promote and maintain ethical and professional standards in line with company staff regulations, ETI, and other codes of conduct to enhance worker welfare.
  • Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the management from time to time.
