Chief Officer Job in Kenya - Public Participation

The Kisii County Government wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Section 45 & 59 of the County Government Act, 2012.

 VACANCY NO. KSI/PSB/EA/25/2022: CHIEF OFFICER – FOURTEEN (14) POSTS – JOB GROUP ‘S’

The chief officer shall be the authorized officer in a specific department/division and be responsible to respective County ECM.

  • Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development
  • Public Service and County Administration
  • Public Participation, Disaster Management and Special Programmes
  • Youth, Sports, Culture, Arts and Special Services

Responsibilities

  • The administration of a county department
  • Formulation and implementation of effective programs to attain vision 2030, Sector goals and CIDP goals
  • Development and implementation of strategic plans and sector development plans
  • Implementation of policies and regulations for effective service delivery
  • Ensuring compliance with the National Values and Principles of good governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen.
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree from a University recognised in A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Being a member of a professional body relevant to the position applied for will be an added
  • Have at least five (5) years relevant experience, in a leadership position or a top management level in public service or private sector.
  • Possess general knowledge of the organization and functions of Government
  • Have demonstrable leadership management capacity including knowledge of financial management and strategic people management.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of county development objectives and Kenya Vision
  • Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

TERMS: CONTRACT

REMUNERATIONS: As per SRC guidelines. NOTE:
