UROGYNAECOLOGIST – V/FT/138/2022 – 1 POST Position Summary
The specialist will
oversee the evaluation and management of female pelvic floor disorders. The
specialist should be an Obstetricians who has completed Two years of clinical
training in Urogynaecology/Female Pelvic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead
the outpatient Urogynaecology division
- Assessment
of women with Pelvic Floor dysfunction
- Assesses
women with potential Urinary tract and Enteric fistulae, women with
potential neurological conditions affecting the bladder
- Establishment
of a Fistula Unit
- Provide
non-surgical and surgical treatment of Pelvic floor Disorders
- Actively
participates in multidisciplinary team approach to complex pelvic floor
disorders
- Provide
Surgical expertise that should include vaginal, laparoscopic approaches to
the management of urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, foecal
incontinence and other conditions affecting the pelvic
- Participate
in research, training and supervision of residents
- Provide
outreach programmes to manage patients affected with Fistula
- Shall
use and endorse the use of all the Hospital’s automated systems, as
appropriate, including the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS);
Qualifications
- Bachelor
of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB)/ Medical Degree
- Masters
in Obstetrics& Gynecology
- KMPDC
Board Certified in Urogynaecology/Female Pelvic and Reconstructive surgery
- Interest
in teaching and working with residents and medical students
