Main Purpose: Reporting to the Administrator, the successful candidate will
help in running the day to day operations of the Pharmacy in line with the
professional practice, regulations and laws of the land.
To provide comprehensive
pharmaceutical service to patients and other customers as requested.
Duties and Responsibilities shall
include but not limited to:

Prepare medications by reviewing and
interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
·
Dispense medications by compounding,
packaging, and labelling pharmaceuticals.
·
Controls medications by monitoring
drug therapies; advising interventions.
·
Provide pharmacological information
by answering questions and requests of health care professionals; counselling
patients on drug therapies.
·
Develop hospital staff’s
pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs; training
pharmacy staff, interns, and nurses.

Protect patients and technicians by
adhering to infection-control protocols

Maintain safe and clean working
environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Job Title: Nurse
(1 Position)

Main Purpose: To
provide comprehensive medical and nursing services to all patients in order to
assist them regain good health. To promote and restore patients’ health by
completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and
multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to
patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team.
Duties and Responsibilities

Identifies patient service
requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual
patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.

Maintains nursing guidelines by
following the laid down Standard Nursing Policies and procedures.

Adhere to duty Rosters and Patient
Allocation; Assess, Plan and implement nursing care using the Nursing process
framework.

Maintain the nursing ethos as
prescribed in the Nurses’ Act Cap 257 of the Laws of Kenya and the Hospital
regulations.

Promotes patient’s independence by

Job Title: Clinical Officer
(1 Position)

Main Purpose: Attending
to clients both on clinical matters like diagnosis amongst others
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Attend to the outpatients in the O.P
Department, Wards and Casualty as the case may be and prescribe necessary
medicines as available in stock and the required investigations.
·
Whenever necessary, with the approval
of the Director of Clinical Services, carry out investigations and prescribe
non-stock drugs.
·
Issue Medical Certificate for
sickness or fitness to join duty as per prescribed procedure.
·
Assist Director of Clinical Services
whenever called upon to do so for any patient or hospital related work.
·
Attend to work with punctuality and
dedication and not give room for any complaints from the patients.
·
Report non-attendance, late
attendance or any other misconduct of the Staff working in his/her area to the
immediate superior officer.
·
Mentorship and supervision of
clinical interns.
·
Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
·
Communicate effectively with patients
and clients.
·
Ensure that duties and functions are
undertaken in a manner that prioritizes the safety and well-being of patients.
·
Represent the department
/profession/team at meetings and conferences as appropriate.
·
Seek advice and assistance from the
consultant/clinical director/employer with any assigned cases or issues that
prove to be beyond the scope and professional competence in line with
principles of best practice and clinical governance.
·
Ensure compliance with legal
requirements.
·
Cover for occasional unplanned
absence of colleagues.
·
Any other duties as may be assigned
from time to time.

Job Title: Optometrist
(1 Position)
Location: Siaya

Purpose: To
examine eyes and visual system, diagnose problems or impairments, prescribe
corrective lenses, and provide treatment. May prescribe therapeutic drugs to
treat specific eye conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provide outpatient care for patients
with eye-related disorders and conditions
·
Conduct routine eye examinations,
including visual field tests
·
Determine each patient’s visual
acuity, field of vision and hand-eye coordination
·
Take detailed medical histories for
all patients, including current and past prescription medications
·
Evaluate eye-related symptoms, such
as discharge, redness and inflammation
·
Prescribe corrective lenses when
required
·
Refer patients to board-certified
ophthalmologists when required for more holistic eye care
·
Educate patients on proper eye care
·
Identify eye health safety factors
that could impact vision, such as working around chemicals or in front of a
computer
·
Advise patients about proper eye
hygiene and care
·
Review and update Standard Operating
Procedures and Policies for the Eye clinic department
·
Review and update budget for Eye
clinic department.
