Job Description: One Acre Fund is establishing a number of rural retail outlets over the coming months.
This role will be vital in the success of this exciting new avenue.
As One Acre Fund’s Rural Retail Administration Assistant in Kenya, you will work closely with all members of the Rural Retail Department to assist in the smooth running of their daily work, through excellent filing, clear and timely communication with both internal and external parties as well as being responsible for keeping workload trackers updated.
Your Role
·         Be responsible for keeping departmental workload tracker documents up to date;
·         Provide clear and timely communication to maintenance clients;
·         Keep all project filing systems up to date;
·         Liaise with team members to ensure the smooth flow of information;
·         Perform additional tasks as requested by the manager as needed.

Qualifications

Job Description: One Acre Fund’s Impact Ventures Department aims to build ultra-scalable new channels and business models that can grow to serve more than half a million farmers in just a few years. We have a diverse portfolio of investments, from large government partnerships to short-term behaviour change campaigns, to rural retail shops, to tree seedling nurseries. What they share is a commitment to impact millions of farm families while maintaining operations that are cost-neutral or highly financially efficient, in order to reach as many people as possible.
We are seeking an exceptional individual with a proven track record to help scale-up early-stage ventures and work in partnership with country + global teams to dream up new opportunities across One Acre Fund operations.
The role responsibilities will be adjusted to fit the candidate’s experience and interests, but in general, will include the following:
·         Develop strategies and tactics to rapidly scale investments in your portfolio to reach hundreds of thousands of clients.
·         For each project in your portfolio, you will be managing 1-2 on the ground leaders who oversee the day to day operations. Each of these leaders will likely lead a rapidly growing team. For early-stage investments, teams will likely include 10-30 people. Within a few years, many programs could have 100+ staff.
·         Building 5-year strategies that improve our ability to hit aggressive scale targets, deliver stronger impact per farmer, and maintains program cost controls
·         Working with program leads to maintain strong field execution through building systems/tools to track and assess key field performance indicators and flexibly collaborating with various departments to tackle unexpected operational challenges
·         Supporting recruiting of senior program leaders
·         Dream big and operationalize new ideas, whether enhancing existing pilots or contributing to country/organizational strategy in identifying new opportunities to pursue.
·         Collaborating with country leadership teams to build a strong business case including strategic rationale, financial projections, and connecting the case to farmer needs identified in the field.
·         Co-developing the trial design with country teams including what to trial, how to trial, and at what scale.
·         Hiring and managing a pilot team directly to effectively trial new ideas or acting as a strategic advisor to country teams if they take on ownership of trialing
·         Leading org-wide communications that share pilot learnings
·         Building and maintaining a global pipeline of Impact Ventures opportunities
·         Develop relationships and coordinate with internal and external partners who are relevant to our work. Partners could include One Acre Fund Country Directors, executives at social enterprises, key officials in government ministries, etc.

Qualifications
Specific qualifications include, but are not limited to:
·         5 to 7+ years of professional work experience with experience in leadership of teams and project management; entrepreneurial experience preferred (e.g. starting a new program or business unit, launching new initiatives across a large field team, etc.)
·         Top-performing academic background
·         Functional flexibility – an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to hit the ground running and start adding value quickly. Proven ability of creative problem-solving, successful implementation and execution of strategy based on field data and programmatic evidence.

Job Description: We are looking for three Recruitment Interns to provide support and oversight for technical and program hiring. The role requires excellent people skills and project management skills, high attention to detail, stakeholder coordination and the ability to plan and achieve hiring strategies.
The Recruitment Interns, based in Nairobi, Kenya, will join our global-based Recruitment Team to provide support in managing our recruitment processes and improvements.
Responsibilities include:
·         Directly participate in general hiring by participating in trainings and interview processes and support in Field Officer hiring and partner with Hiring Managers to schedule final round interviews

Job Description
We are looking for a motivated, dedicated to social impact to join our Rwanda strategy team.
The Strategy and Operations Analyst will work on short-term projects across multiple functions to solve complex, financial and operational problems.
This is a full-time career-track role within One Acre Fund Rwanda’s Strategy team.
The role therefore includes exposure to high-level strategy, working in different departments, and getting into the field. No day is ever the same, and you can take on new projects quickly whilst handling ad-hoc requests (e.g. research) from the country director.
Analysts take full ownership of projects, from planning through execution and follow-up.
They manage anywhere from 2-5 projects at any given time, are typically responsible for at least one other team-specific initiative, and are expected to tackle any type of project – from quantitative modeling to primary research – with a focus on solving the problem at hand. The Analyst may be asked to take on direct management responsibilities to help our team grow into Analysts.
Roles and Responsibilities
·         Identify opportunities for 20% savings in our large distribution network costs, through market research and modeling of truck costs and margins in the industry, to understand where we could reduce our costs.
·         Build a ‘social return on investment’ model for teams that conduct trials to ensure the trial is a worthwhile investment, taking in to account its potential impact to farmers and cost if we scaled the trial country-wide.
·         Identify opportunities in the market to sell more solar lights, and working with each team to ensure cross-channel collaboration to increase solar light sales.
·         Working with our field operations team to create tools to measure performance and ensure incentives (sales, repayment etc) for field staff are optimal to increase results.
·         Longer-term, there will be opportunities to lead increasingly large projects or join/lead a department you are supporting.

Kenya Trials Liaison Coordinator

Job Description: The ‘Duka Trial Liaison’ will manage and coordinate the communication, planning and execution of Duka trial activities between logistics and PGI The Liaison will drive process improvements aimed at the efficient storage, monitoring and delivery of Duka stocks; and will be responsible for planning and executional excellence for trial activities.
The Liaison will advise the PGI department on the most cost efficient ways of delivering products from various warehouses to the Dukas, through route and truck optimization in order to minimize delivery costs; and will be responsible for the seasonal allocation and delivery of stocks based on the forecasted Duka needs. They shall also be responsible for monitoring stock validity and expiry information, communicating and recommending appropriate action to the PGI department.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Inventory Allocation Planning (40%)
·         Suggest and implement solutions to improve Duka demand forecast accuracy.
·         Monitor the warehouse space and occupancy for Duka stocks in relation to the quantities ordered and respective Duka sales per region.
·         Communicate forecast and inventory estimates to stakeholders, and keep them updated on project updates.
·         Address demand related issues in a timely fashion by optimizing transfers.
·         Monitor stock availability for reorder discussions.
Cost Optimization (20%)
·         Actively engage Duka stakeholders to identify Logistics cost saving areas.
·         Analyze all Logistics- Duka related expenditure and provide reports.
·         Advise the PI team on cost-effective transport models.
·         Adhere to the agreed upon SLAs with the PI team.
·         Identify and continuously improve on different delivery models to optimize transfers as we scaleup.
Process improvement (20%)
·         Identify areas of improvements and recommend action plans.
·         Work with management to design, build and implement more efficient processes for the Duka execution.
·         Reach out to all stakeholders with the aim of understanding pain points in the current delivery or product handling processes.
·         Document all existing and develop any new Duka- serving processes.
·         Actively engage Duka supervisors on product quality concerns and advise on mitigation plans.
Professional Development (20%)
·         Identify opportunities for training of own team to better support the Duka program
·         Participate in bi-monthly skills boosters with manager to increase technical skills with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
