Job Description: We’re looking for a full-time videographer for a six-month contract to produce professional quality short videos for One Acre Fund trainings, marketing, fundraising, and brand. We’re looking for someone with 3+ years of demonstrated professional video experience to help execute on numerous video projects over a 6-month window.
Over the six-month window, the videographer will be embed with our Communications team, working from our Nairobi office with travel to rural Kenya and around East Africa for shoots. The videos will often be short 2-3 minute pieces meant to share staff stories, teach staff skills trainings, and market our brand.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
·         Drafting shot lists
·         Building storyboards
·         Shooting with DSLRs
·         Directing video shoots
·         Subtitling videos in 7 or more different languages
·         Recutting existing videos
·         Project management
·         Editing sequences in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Job Description
From research to sales to strategy to operations, the Global Data Analyst has the unique opportunity to improve decision-making across all aspects of One Acre Fund’s program using many diverse data types, such as sales, yield, demographic and satellite data, to enable us to reach more farmers with greater impact.
The Global Data Analyst will help expand our program to over one million farmers by executing analyses for strategic decision-making on repayment, expansion, and other business functions, and work directly with program leaders to interpret results and make data-driven decisions. The Global Data Analyst will play an integral role in shaping One Acre Fund’s data strategy, including dreaming up and executing new ways to use our data to improve our program.
Additionally, One Acre Fund has a robust agronomic and socioeconomic research program spanning all countries of operation. This role will work closely with country research teams to ensure all trials are executed at the highest possible standards, provide follow-up analytical support and training to team members, and support with warehousing of our agronomic data to make our research outputs accessible to external collaborators, further increasing One Acre Fund’s smallholder farmer impact across the continent.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a strong communicator and have a solid analytical background with experience in experimental design. You will need to be comfortable interpreting ambiguous results generated with imperfect data, and advising leaders on relative risk associated with different decisions based on the results of your analysis.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Formulate, execute, and interpret rigorous analyses for strategic program decisions (40%). Examples of recent work include:
·         Use unsupervised machine learning methods to define zones for crop insurance in Malawi.
·         Working with the Kenya program to create a new data-driven expansion strategy to reach tens of thousands of new farmers in 2020.
·         Analyzing the relationship between farmer compliance with our agronomic recommendations and yield outcomes in Rwanda to prioritize trainings to increase program impact.
·         Identify new ways to use our data to drive program reach and impact.
·         Manage pipeline of projects and prioritize according to greatest impact.
Provide ongoing support to R&D teams (30%):
·         Improve analytical quality through mentoring junior analysts, reviewing analyses, and creating new training materials.
·         Drive trial design and analysis quality through internal trial review board.
·         Enforce compliance with data quality control protocols and advise on new data quality improvements.
Lead impact data management and support with external partner data requests (30%):
·         Work closely with the Business Intelligence team to standardize previous yield and agronomic practice data in order to make data accessible to the external research community.
·         Support knowledge management by curating historical One Acre Fund trial data and analyses and disseminating results, methodologies, sample sizes, etc. to teams running similar trials.
·         Manage relationship between internal One Acre Fund country teams and external research partners.

Job Description: The Deputy Country Director – Operations will be an essential part of a leadership team that manages the largest program in One Acre Fund and one of the largest social enterprises in Africa. The Kenya program serves over 550,000 clients, manages over $55m in loans and over 3,000 staff. By 2030, we aim to transform every farming community in Kenya, and serve more than 1.5 million Kenyan farm families.
The Deputy Country Director – Operations will report to the Country Director and set the strategy for managing a 3,000 person workforce and running the largest rural delivery network in Kenya. You will directly manage over 225 staff and two essential divisions: People and Systems.
You will:
·         Guide country level strategy for our largest country operations, together with the Country Director and two other Deputy Country Directors.
·         Be a member of the Kenya Leadership Team, leading country-wide strategy and important projects alongside this group of senior leaders.
·         Manage the People Division Lead. This is a 75+ person division consisting of two major departments; Human Resources and Corporate Operations.
·         Work with the People Director to improve our people support to over 3,000 employees in the Kenya program through making systematic upgrades to our HR systems and corporate operations processes and services
·         Take a lead role in advancing all of the organisations Diversity and Inclusion projects in Kenya – a top priority for all senior leadership.
·         Manage the Systems Division Lead. This is a 150+ person division consisting of three major departments; Logistics, Business Operations and Procurement.

Job Description
Product Innovations Department Overview: The Product Innovations (PI) Lead will sit with the Impact Division, reducing the risk of farmer investments by offering proven, impactful products and trainings. Product Innovations drives One Acre Fund towards continual growth by researching and trialing agricultural products, non-agricultural products, and trainings that solve the fundamental challenges that Tanzanian farmers face.
The department works to maximize adoption or adherence and minimize logistical complications in an effort to reach as many farmers as possible with high impact products.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Team Management of 25+ Department Staff
·         Team management of 25+ department staff.
·         Lead product strategy to maximize farmer impact and enrollment through both products and trainings.
·         Design and oversee efficient product trials on both agricultural products (example: a new fertilizer blend on potato) and non-agricultural products (example: solar lights). Trial objectives vary, including assessing effectiveness of product on farmer income as well as reducing risks to program complexity during roll out.
·         Plan budget, staffing, and project priorities each year and for the coming 3-5 years.
·         Coordinate and foster efficient learning with other Product Innovations Leads, agricultural and analysis experts, and other departments both within the program country and cross-country.

Management of Field Trial Unit and trial design

Tanzania Government Relations Specialist

Job Description: The Government Relations Specialist will be responsible for coordinating our Local Government Relations Team across our established areas of operation in Tanzania which include Iringa, Mbeya, Songwe and Njombe regions.
The Specialist will lead a team of staff across the regions of operation and be responsible for their professional development. They will also serve as a focal point for One Acre Fund departmental leadership for advice on government and regulatory questions in Tanzania. The Specialist will participate in stakeholder meetings and oversee the production of quarterly reports as well as manage strategies to resolve government-related risks in the field.
Additionally, s/he will coordinate all regional and district approvals for our scouting and existing areas of operation. He/she will also play an active role in coordinating field events and act as a link between our field headquarters in Iringa and our Government Relations team member in Dar es Salaam.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
·         Management and professional development support to 4 local government relations staff across Iringa, Mbeya and Njombe regions.
·         Act as a key deputy and the main point of contact for all government relations inquiries from other departments and the Tanzania Country Leadership team based at our Iringa headquarters, responding to questions and requests in a timely and comprehensive manner with minimal supervision from the manager.
·         Communicate effectively with the other departments by proactively seeking their feedback on GR support to the field and developing strategies to align with them.
·         Manage highest-level local government relationships with government officials (councillors, DAICOs and Regional Commissioners) and the regional regulator, TAMISEMI.
·         Create and implement professional development initiatives for the Local Government Relations Team in Iringa, Mbeya, Njombe and Songwe areas of operation.
·         Create efficiencies within the Local Government Relations Team through delegation and strategic use of staff resources.
·         Oversee the tracking and resolution of risks and issues affecting field-facing operations.
·         Track compliance of One Acre Fund operations with government regulations, oversee the team’s support to the Innovations, Field Operations, Logistics and Corporate Operations departments on licensing processes in Iringa, Mbeya, Njombe and Songwe regions.
·         Oversee planning and execution on logistics for events that the Government Relations department holds in the field with local and national government officials as well as politicians
·         Oversee timely preparation and delivery of quarterly reports to all levels of local government in our established regions of operation.
·         Review country strategies and policies, and advise One Acre Fund departments on next steps.
·         Use people management and project planning tools to coordinate Local Government Relations staff and adequately respond to requests from department heads.
·         Act as a focal point for the global and national Government Relations Department.

Job Description: Product Innovations drives One Acre Fund towards continual growth by trailing trialing agricultural products, non-agricultural products, and training with high impact potential that solve the fundamental challenges that Tanzanian farmers face. The department also works to maximize adoption or adherence and minimize logistical complications in an effort to reach as many farmers as possible with high impact products.
The Product Development and Evaluation Project Specialist will work closely with Product Innovations (PI) leadership as a technical leader in product development and evaluation. Our trials involve measuring farmer impact, farmer adoption/adherence, and logistics challenges of a product when offered as a choice for purchase in a One Acre Fund loan. This role serves to test and evaluate products, materials, and/or training in order to provide actionable recommendations to the execution team to mitigate product risks.
In addition, this role will serve to identify and field test new products with high impact potential. The position requires at least 20% time observing and supervising field activities/farmers with the remaining time spent planning, calendaring, drafting surveys, and preparing reports or recommendations. This role will require the ability to manage many priorities at once and rapid progress on deliverable to meet deadlines.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Project Management: Manage simultaneous projects in line with One Acre Fund strategy while maintaining flexibility to challenges and feedback
·         Calendar for activities, deadlines, and decision points for projects for 6+ months in the future o Represent Product Innovations within inter-department project management meetings
·         Understand complex topics by synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data and communicating them in a simple and concise manner
·         Draft professional analytical reports quickly (4-8 hours) with a focus on actionable recommendations and few grammatical/spelling errors
·         Produce written deliverable with no revision necessary
·         Problem solving: adjust plans and deliverable quickly to feedback and challenges

Lead product development and evaluation with moderate support: Simultaneously manage the execution of 1 to 2 high priority and high complexity projects. This includes:
·         Coordination and execution of product demonstration days
·         Field testing farmer facing training and materials such as planting cards prior to their delivery in the field
·         Drafting field surveys and executing qualitative research to test key product assumptions as well as executing product needs assessments
·         Evaluating agronomic practices and product needs in existing and new operating areas to provide product and/or training recommendations.
·         Designing product behavior change and adoption campaigns.
·         Assessing product or training failure and providing actionable recommendations for next steps.
·         Draft and finalize reports to provide clear, succinct analysis and recommendations based on project objectives and next steps
Support product adoption and logistics trial design and planning, by:
·         Identifying recommendations on procurement options, package iterations, and training to address major behavior change.
·         Assessing farmer response to products and recommending adjustments to marketing/campaign messaging

We are seeking an exceptional individual to drive our goals around efficiency and effectiveness by supporting our continual improvement and cost saving projects and working closely with key stakeholders to streamline processes across the global procurement function.
The overarching goals of this role are to:
·         Drive waste out of the value chain through a set of focused, high-impact projects and process improvements
·         Deliver better system and data integrations across the supply chain team from demand planning to purchasing to inventory management
·         Improve controls environment to prevent and detect over-spend events and fraud
·         Work with the Supply Chain Operations Manager to improve order accuracy to dramatically reduce excess inventory without risking stock-outs
·         Make team key performance indicators visible to executors and organization leadership to justify investments in supply chain operations
The Supply Chain Operations Associate will play a critical role supporting the development and implementation of major cost saving and efficiency improving initiatives with a heavy focus on process automation, reducing redundancies, and better use of data.
The ideal candidate has 4+ years of work experience in an operations or strategic problem-solving role, with significant exposure to complex project management, process automation, and forecasting.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Sourcing Data & Reporting management: Work with the sourcing data team to automate data processes and reports for better visibility into supply chain data across the organization. More specifically:
·         Drive 100% real-time, accurate data entry in SAP – this includes managing the data entry & reporting teams with clear targets performance metrics, quality checking supply chain team data regularly to catch errors, and streamlining data entry systems to reduce the risk of errors;
·         Work with reporting unit to develop and manage a full suite of automated, easy-to-consume PowerBI and SSRS reports – these reports should provide the team with real time visibility into performance against targets and empower country teams to make data-driven business decisions;
·         Resolve and mitigate future pain points between procurement staff and their counterparts of finance and logistics – you align with cross-department stakeholders regularly to alleviate friction caused by messy data and ensure you have a single-source of truth for decision making.
·         Implement long term improvements in our data and reporting systems – improve data collection tools, data reporting, system process integration etc.
Driving innovation in sourcing operations to eliminate waste: Work with Supply Chain Operations Manager to drive innovation across the global sourcing and local procurement teams by executing data-focused strategic projects and thinking creatively. Example projects include:
·         Invest in data-driven forecasting and new warehousing and sourcing strategies to minimize excess inventory in regional warehouses without risking stock-outs during key seasonal deliveries;
·         Automate processes, tools, and systems to reduce lead times & improve process visibility;
·         Improve data visibility to empower internal clients, approvers, and purchasers to make better informed decisions;
·         Investigate projects that could save massive amounts of money such as investing in an e-tendering platform to solicit more competitive bids and make it easier to negotiate better pricing;
·         Identify methods for reducing repetition, spend, and manual movements from sourcing processes – may include collaborating with warehousing, last-mile-distribution, and finance teams in addition to immediate global sourcing colleagues.
Improve system integration & controls and use existing tools more effectively to tighten controls and simplify frequent tasks:
·         Streamline order processing and tracking tools to reduce repetition and manual data entry;
·         Identify opportunities to move processes into existing platforms – for example, you’ll be responsible for moving cash forecasting into SAP, implementing an e-tendering platform, and streamlining vendor and contract management processes through SAP;
·         Manage day-day issue resolution and ticket generation for SAP request portal;
·         Identify and close controls gaps in sourcing processes with buy-in from team leadership and executors to reduce possible fraud or over-spend events;

Capacity building:
