Laboratory Technologist
Duty Station: Any of the Branches

The Laboratory Technologist’s main duties will be to analyze samples of blood, tissue and body fluids to determine chemical content, cell count, drug levels or blood type; they may also search for specific microorganisms.
The individual will also prepare the samples for examination, using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation, performing numerous complicated tests simultaneously, and accurately interpreting the results.
Duties & Responsibilities
·         Cleaning and sterilizing laboratory glass ware, surfaces and equipment;
·         Documenting and receiving samples for analysis;
·         Preparing laboratory reagents; carrying out chemical/microbiological analysis on samples (food, water, waste waters and beverages);
·         Extracting, isolating and identifying drugs, pesticides and heavy metals from biological and miscellaneous samples;
·         Preparing cultures of tissue samples
·         Microscopically examining slides of bodily fluids
·         Chemically analyzing blood or urine for toxic components
·         Analyzing lab reports for accuracy
·         Delivering test results to physicians.
·         Collecting and studying blood samples to determine morphology
·         Maintain quality control lab measures.
·         Keep the lab records as required by statutory and regulatory authorities and as recommended by Government of Kenya, Ministry of Health regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
·         Academic: O-levels/A-Levels
·         Professional: Diploma in medical laboratory sciences or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board.
·         Be a registered member of KMLTTB
·         Possess a valid practice license from KMLTTB
·         Experience: At least 2yrs experience post internship experience in a similar position

Clinical Officer
Duty Station: Any of the Branches
The Clinical Officer’s main purpose will be to ensure proper management of activities and staff to enable holistic care to both clients and staff at the branch.
Duties & Responsibilities
·         Provide comprehensive and good quality clinical services to patients.
·         Diagnose and institute appropriate treatment for the clients to reduce morbidity, mortality and increase longevity of the patients’ life.
·         In collaboration with the team receive and attend to patients who require emergency services.
·         Ensure that patient data/ information is handled confidentially.
·         Ensure effective clinical procedures, rules, regulations which are consistent with organization procedures.
·         Ensure that the clinic environment is safe and complies with infection control standards.
·         Give treatment while ensuring that established treatment protocols and treatment process as well as dispensing of drugs are carried out efficiently.
·         Maintain adequate drugs supplies.

·         Maintain up-to-date patient records at the clinic.
Skills and Qualifications
·         Academic: O-levels/A-Levels
·         Professional: Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine and Community Health from Recognized institution.
·         Be a registered member of the Clinical Officers Council.
·         Possess a valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers’ Council.
·         Experience: At least 3 years relevant post internship experience in a similar position

Nurse
Duty Station: Any of the Branches
The nurse’s main role will be to promote and restore patients’ health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
Duties & Responsibilities
·         Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
·         Identify patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
·         Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
·         Promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
·         Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.
·         Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
·         Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel.
·         Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
·         Maintain continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
·         Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
·         Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
·         Maintain nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
·         Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
·         Maintain a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
·         Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Nurse Skills and Qualifications
·         Academic: O-levels/A-Levels
·         Professional: KRCHN
·         Possess a valid practicing license
·         Experience: At least 1yr experience post internship experience in a similar position
