Job Purpose: To teach and educate learners according to the curriculum
and the education needs, abilities and attainment of potential of individual
students.
Roles and Responsibilities
·
Planning, preparing and delivering
lessons to all students in the class.
·
Teaching according to education
needs, abilities and achievement of individual students and groups of students.
·
Adopting and working towards the
implementation of the school development plan.
·
Assessing, recording and reporting on
the development, progress, attainment and behavior of student’s to parents and
relevant officials.
·
Contributing to oral and written
assessments, reports and references relating to students.
·
Complying with arrangements within
the national framework for the appraisal of student performance.
·
Promoting general progress and
wellbeing of students.
·
Providing guidance and advice to
students on educational and social matters and on their further education and
future careers; providing information on sources of more expert advice.
·
Communicating, collaborating and
consulting with other members of staff, including those having posts of special
responsibility and parents/guardians to ensure the best interest of students.
·
Reviewing and evaluating his/her own
teaching and learning strategies, methodologies and programme in line with the
school and national curriculum.

Advising and collaborating with other
teachers and school officials to prepare and develop courses to study, teaching
materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment.
·
Ensuring high standards of
professional practice and quality of teaching in his/her classroom.
·
Participating in education and
training courses as well as continuing professional development.

Maintaining order and discipline
among students and safeguarding their health and safety.
·
Participating in staff, parent and
student meetings.
·
Ensuring the safe custody, use and
periodic maintenance of equipment used during lessons.
·
Monitoring attendance of students in
class.

Skills and Qualifications Required
·
A Bachelors Degree in Education
(English and French).
·
A Diploma will be considered
·
Must be registered with Teachers
Service Commission (TSC)
·
A certificate in Waldorf Education is
an added advantage

At least 5 years ‘experience in
teaching
·
Demonstrated computer skills
·
Clear English writing and communication
skills
·

swimming and games

Inform the Administrator when
supplies are needed and if any equipment need repairs

Swim 1,500 feet every week

Skills and Qualifications Required:

Education / Music.

Job Summary and Purpose: The Pedagogical Administrator with be the focal person on
all pedagogical needs of the Nairobi Waldorf School Trust.
This
role works collaboratively and in consultation with the pedagogical team,
school management, colleagues, students, parents and board members.
The
role directs all aspects of the educational program of Nairobi Waldorf School
Trust and ensures it is of high quality, sustainable and effectively
implemented.
The
Pedagogical Administrator will ensure that the educational needs of the
learners are met and that there is a continuous teachers professional
development and mentorship program, oversee curriculum development and its
implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Roles and Responsibilities
·
Chairing meetings of the Pedagogical
Team.
·
Develop, lead and be accountable for
the effective and efficient implementation of the Pedagogic team performance
plan (PTPP).
·
Guide the development of the teaching
staff to ensure that the school structures, curriculum, philosophy and
available resources enable all the teachers to achieve the highest possible
standards. This includes:
·
Leading and guide all teaching staff
and students, through the direct leadership of the school’s pedagogical team,
ensuring that effective responsibility is delegated through an appropriate
leadership structure.
·
Ensuring the highest possible
standards of Waldorf education through the promotion of effective teaching and
learning.
·
Being accountable for the
effectiveness, efficiency and quality outcomes of all pedagogical aspects of
the school.
·
Oversee the overall academic budget
for the school to ensure the effective implementation of the school’s
educational program.
·
Oversee and streamline the roles of
the lead teachers to ensure that they are effective.
·
Provide the School Board with regular
reports on pedagogical development and activities and consult with the Board
wherever appropriate.
·
Ensure maximum and efficient
utilization of the existing teaching staff, and promote an environment that
enables all teachers to effectively contribute to the progress and development
of the school whilst promoting workload / work-life balance.
·
Ensure the protection and safeguarding
of students through the implementation of the Health, Safety, Security and
Environmental protocols including documentation of incidents.
·
Lead the engagement, consultation and
communication between teachers, parents, and other care givers (including shadow
teachers) to enhance pupils’ learning and to ensure sound working
relationships. This involves:
·
Fostering a fair, open and equitable
culture amongst teachers and ensuring cohesion amongst all teaching staff to
promote a positive social environment.
·
Finding creative ways to motivate,
empower, and celebrate achievement amongst teachers.
·
Developing assessment tools and lead
in the assessment of teachers and the utilization of assessment results, as
specified in the PT Plan.
·
Developing and streamline the school’s
Pedagogical Systems and ensure they are regularly monitored and evaluated.
·
Ensuring the Pedagogical Team’s
active participation in the recruitment of teachers.
·
Teaching at least one block or short
track annually.
Required Qualifications and Experience
·
Master in Education or its equivalent
·
Diploma in Waldorf Steiner Education
·
At least eight (8) years of
professional experience in a Waldorf High School
