Recruiting Assistant
Area Coordinator
We are looking for a person who
enjoys contributing to obtaining and retaining the right talent from entry
level to senior level positions within the company. The hire will also be
responsible for ensuring strong talent operations where this includes effective
probation management and up-to-date database of staff qualifications.
This is an entry level role where the
Recruiting Assistant will be based in the Nairobi office though the hire will
be expected to travel across our branch network regularly.

Responsibilities
Recruitment and Selection
·
Attracting and selecting
appropriately skilled talent through strategic sourcing starting from timely
posting of job adverts
·
Screening and long-listing of
candidates in collaboration with the relevant Line Managers/functions
·
Contacting applicants to facilitate
attendance of interviews
·
Organizing and participating in
interviews in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition and Development Officer
and relevant Line Managers/functions
·
Facilitating background checks and
ensuring timely feedback and responses to candidates and interviewees
·
Supporting the on-boarding process to
ensure successful on-boarding experiences
·
Supporting the Line Managers in
evaluating their teams throughout shadowing and probation periods for effective
deployment and timely confirmation of all new hires
Operational Support
·
Implementing established HR systems
related to recruitment and selection i.e. policies, processes and tools where
this includes advising and guiding Line Managers on the same
·
Evaluating existing recruitment and
selection processes and procedures and recommending improvements
·
Providing operational support for
recruiting, on-boarding, shadowing and probation functions
·
Ensuring on-time and adequate
documentation of HR processes where this includes quality electronic and hard
copy recruitment records and reports
Qualifications
·
You have a positive attitude and
willing to learn as well as teach others. This includes openly sharing ideas
and suggestions for process improvements; speaking up when stuck and being an
attentive listener
·
You are self-driven, highly organised
and able to operate independently towards set targets
·
You uphold high levels of integrity
and confidentiality as well as being able to communicate effectively with
different stakeholders
·
At least one-year experience working
in HR focusing on recruitment and selection
·
Working knowledge and understanding
of labour laws in Kenya
·
Degree in HR, Social Sciences or any
other relevant field
·
Excellent command of English and
Swahili
·
IHRM Membership
·
Availability to travel extensively
across the branches regularly

month

Area Coordinator
Responsibilities include recruiting,
training and managing a team of 7 to 8 staff, whose main job is a mix of a
sales agent and a loan officer role.
The hire will also be responsible for
achieving set targets for the area that include both sales and client repayment
behaviour.
There are two vacancies available
based in South Rift: Kericho and Nyamira.

Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
·
Coach and support a team of group
coordinators (role comprising of being a sales agent and loan officer) ensuring
they reach their targets in their assigned territories and administrative
duties are completed;
·
Continually evaluate the team,
conduct performance reviews and develop internal training to strengthen
knowledge and skills;
·
Recruit and train group coordinators
under the current curriculum in the area of your operation as and when
required.
Client Relationship Management
·
Analyse company customer relations
and how to improve service for current and new customers, as for us our
customers are at the heart of our business;
·
Travel frequently to the field to
monitor activities and meet with customers.
Operations and Administration
·
Evaluate existing company processes
and procedures and recommend improvements;
·
Run the area office, including all
administrative duties such as stock reconciliations, record keeping and
reporting, overseeing staff expenses etc.
Qualifications
·
You are a team player who leads by
example and excellent at listening and building trust and long-lasting
relationships with clients and within teams;
·
You value ownership and freedom in
exchange for accountability and responsibility;
·
You are self-driven, highly organised
and able to operate independently towards set targets;
·
Minimum two years’ experience as loan
officer or field officer working directly with clients in rural areas;
·
At least one-year experience of
managing a team of employees (not just casual workers);
·
Degree in Business Studies, Rural
Development or equivalent; Sales experience an advantage but not a must;
·
Knowledge of local dialects a strong
advantage.

Remuneration & Application
Process
Starting at Ksh. 30,000 gross per
month as base salary plus a strong monthly bonus of around half the base salary
that is linked to sales and loan portfolio performance of your team.
