Job Title: Radiographer
Department: Clinical
Reporting To: Chief Nurse

Location: Nyamira / Kisii
Purpose: To perform imaging roles for various requests on patients.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
·         Assess patients and their clinical requirements to work out which radiographic techniques to use;
·         Perform a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high-quality images;
·         Take responsibility for radiation safety in your work area, including checking equipment for malfunctions and errors;
·         Manage referrals to ensure patients receive a radiation dose as low as reasonably possible;
·         Supervise visiting staff and patients in radiation work areas;
·         Help in more complex radiological examinations, working with doctors such as radiologists and surgeons;
·         Provide support and reassurance to patients, taking into account their physical and psychological needs.
·         Keep up to date with health and safety guidelines, including ionizing radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others.
·         Using specialized equipment, technologies and techniques to obtain images of parts/areas of the body.
·         Determining the most appropriate method of scanning for each patient.
·         Consulting with other medical staff to identify and diagnose diseases, conditions and the nature of injuries.
·         Ensuring equipment is maintained and used safely.
Job Requirement
·         Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences from a recognized institution
·         Registration with the Radiation Protection Board.
·         Minimum of one year relevant experience
·         Good communication skills and courtesy
·         Transparent and honest.

Job Title: Biomedical Engineer Intern
Department: Clinical
Reporting To: Biomedical Engineer
Location: Kisii
Purpose: Installation of new biomedical equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating, maintenance and advising on usage.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
·         Installation of new biomedical equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating, and testing performance.
·         Maintaining biomedical equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; conducting tests; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions; calling for special service; evaluating service contracts; maintaining equipment inventories.
·         Direct biomedical equipment operation by providing equipment operation demonstrations; instructing other healthcare staff in use and care of equipment; answering questions; providing information.
·         Evaluate proposed biomedical equipment by conducting tests and evaluations.
·         Improve biomedical equipment performance by studying machine-patient interaction; conferring with equipment users; developing modifications; in collaboration with equipment manufacturers.
·         Maintaining biomedical equipment supplies inventory by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and following up on orders; verifying receipt.
·         Prepares biomedical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.

Job Requirement
·         Degree/ Diploma in Medical Engineering
·         Ability to work with minimum supervision.
