The Aga Khan Hospital is in an exciting growth phase and has attained acknowledgment of its quality by achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification, ISO 15189:2012 accreditation for laboratory services and is at advanced stage of attaining Joint Commission International Accreditation. The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu has outreach Health Services at Kisii, Kakamega, Kitale, Bungoma, Kericho, Kibuye-Kisumu, West End- Kisumu, Busia, Homa – Bay, Kapsabet, Migori, Bomet and Narok.
The hospital intends to open a comprehensive Medical Centre in Kisii with inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic capabilities.
We are seeking interested and qualified candidates with ability to organize and prioritize work, analytical with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills, can work in teams and have over 2 years’ of working experience.
Candidates should have licensure and registration with relevant practitioners’ boards and updated membership with professional bodies to fill the positions listed below:
Bio – Medical Engineering Technologist (1)
Overall Responsibility : Reporting to the Head of Facility the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the maintenance of medical equipment, orientation and training of users and collaborate with contractors to ensure that all medical equipment are in good working condition
Responsibilities:
·         Develop and implement effective Planned Preventive Maintenance schedules to minimize machine downtime.
·         Conduct training on medical equipment use and handling.
·         Liaise with all relevant departments / stakeholders on acquisition of medical equipment and signing of service contracts.
·         Maintaining job cards for each job assigned.
Qualifications
·         Diploma in Medical Engineering.
·         Registered by Association of Medical Engineering of Kenya (AMEK).
·         2 years working experience in medical equipment maintenance – experience in a busy medical institution is highly desirable.
·         Good organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
·         Computer literate.

Medical Records Officers (2)
Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Medical Records Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, effective storage of patient medical records towards ensuring integrity, easy accessibility, completeness and confidentiality of patient information.
Responsibilities:
·         Routine data collection by performing daily collection and collation of bed bureau census as well as collection of clinic reports.
·         Coding and Indexing of diseases to enable provision of data for learning, administrative purposes and as per statutory requirements.
·         Editing of Patient files as per the patient assembly order policy.
·         Clinic preparation by retrieving files and ensuring patient records are readily available as required.
·         Participation in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, promoting service excellence & cost management.
Qualifications
·         Diploma in Health records from a recognized institution.
·         Minimum two years working experience in a busy Hospital environment.
·         Excellent customer service and people management skills.
·         Excellent computer skills and ability to work with minimum supervision.

Physiotherapist (1)
Reporting to the physiotherapist In Charge the successful candidate will work with patients to identify and improve their movement and function.
He/she will also be expected to be an active member of the health care team in the Hospital.
Requirements
·         Minimum Diploma in Physiotherapy from KMTC or any other recognized institution.
·         Must be registered and licensed by the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya
·         At least two years working experience in a busy health facility.
·         Working knowledge of a Hospital Management Information System.
·         Excellent Public Relations and Communication skills.

Telephone Operator (1)
Overall Responsibility: The successful candidate will be responsible for providing efficient and effective communication services within the Medical Centre.
Key Responsibilities
·         Effectively and efficiently handle of all incoming and outgoing calls as per policy.
·         Test lines and speakers for functionality and record the status.
·         Timely respond to emergency calls and ensure correct information for all emergency calls is recorded and communicated / escalated to the relevant personnel immediately.
·         Report faulty extensions / non – functioning equipment as and when required.
·         Maintain records of all calls.
Requirements
·         Certificate in Telephone Operations
·         At least one year working experience in a similar position.
·         Excellent communication skills (Oral and written) in both English and Kiswahili.
·         Ability to organise and prioritize work, with sound decision making skills

ICT Officer (1)
Reporting to the IT Supervisor, the successful candidate will provide technical support in ICT services to enable the provision of timely, reliable, accurate and efficient information services to both staff and clients.
Key Responsibilities
·         Perform Basic maintenance and troubleshooting to solve hardware and software problems as they arise.
·         Provide general IT support to enable users solve IT related issues and reduce downtime.
·         Monitor Systems performance and manage parameters
·         Perform Cabling and installing of trunks where required
·         Installation of software on end user PCs, with maintenance of versions as required.
·         Support and maintenance of Servers and Network
Qualifications and Requirements
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Information Communication and Technology.
·         Two years work experience.
·         Excellent ICT knowledge in database administration
·         Excellent ICT knowledge in system and network administration including IP Telephony.
·         Proficiency in windows OS, Linux OS
·         Business awareness and understanding of business requirements of IT

Procurement Officer (1)
Overall Responsibility
Reporting to the Material Management Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementation of purchasing procedures, processes and best practices and maximize savings and benefits arising from seamless purchasing activities.
Key Responsibilities
·         Ensure that the procurement of goods and services are done in line with the organization’s policies.
·         Ensure that there are timely procurement reports that track status of each requisition and provide feedback as necessary.
·         Analyze quotations / bids submitted by vendors and make a comparative analysis of the information provided in order to make procurement decisions.
Requirements
·         Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management from a recognized institution in Kenya.
·         Bachelor Degree in Procurement, Business Management or any other related qualification from a recognized institution in Kenya will be an added advantage.
·         Registered by Kenya Institute of Supplies Management.
·         At least four years working experience in a similar position.
·         Experience in working with a Hospital Management Information System will be an added advantage.
·         Good organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
·         Excellent computer skills and ability to work with minimum supervision.
·         Should have skills in negotiating with vendors to maximize value for money without compromising on quality of required goods or services.

A&E In Charge
(Re-Advertisement)
Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Director of Nursing Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of quality care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients within the A&E unit.
He / she will plan, coordinate, manage and evaluate all patient care activities including quality, resources, regulatory compliance, staff development and finance.
Key Responsibilities
·         Lead the unit team in formulation, implementation and evaluation of annual goals and objectives in accordance with departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.

·         Lead the team in development, implementation and review of policies, procedures, protocols, and care guidelines based on international standards.
·         Perform regular rounds within the unit to ensure smooth triage, observation, admission, transfer and referral of patients that enhances patient safety and quality patient care.
·         Participate in the Budget process and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
·         Ensure that all policies, procedures, equipment and supplies are in place.
·         Responsible for the recruitment, selection, orientation and on- going training of the unit staff.
·         Oversee continuous education of unit staff and identify staff training needs.
·         Participate in Quality and patient safety activities in the unit and hospital.
Requirements
·         Bsc Nursing.
·         Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
·         Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate.
·         At least five years working experience in nursing practice, with three years in Nursing Leadership role in Accident & Emergency and ambulatory set-up.

Nursing Officers (12)
Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Unit Nursing Officer in charge the successful candidate will provide quality nursing services including performing necessary procedures at the Medical Centre.
Key Responsibilities
·         Initiates nursing process.
·         Ensure safe custody and correct administration of drugs.
·         Implement prompt action on doctors’ orders.
·         Communicate effectively to relevant departments on patients’ concerns and conditions.
·         Coordinate safe transfer of patients
·         Support administrative functions of the clinic when called upon to do so.
Qualifications
·         Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse or Kenya Registered Nurse / Midwife.
·         Basic Life Support /Advanced Cardiac Life Support and any other specialty certification will be an added advantage.
·         Over one year experience in a Medical / Surgical setting in a busy medical institution.
·         Valid Kenyan nursing practice license.

Radiographer / Sonographer (1)
Reporting to the Radiology Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, efficient, high quality diagnostic imaging services to both inpatient and outpatients through the use of modern imaging technology that includes computerized X-ray machine and multi probe ultrasound unit.
Key Responsibilities
·         To undertake initial patient evaluation, provide diagnostic radiographs, perform ultrasound and Doppler examinations by capturing images of diagnostic value.
·         Ensure radiation safety measures and protection are observed to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety to patient’s staff and self.
·         Ensure scheduled maintenance, and calibration of medical equipment’s are in place and followed.
·         Ensure accurate documentation and care of patients’ records.
Requirements and Qualifications
·         Higher Diploma in Ultrasound
·         Two (2) years working experience in similar position
·         Registered and licensed by The Kenya Radiation Protection Board
·         Trustworthiness.
·         Good communication skills.

Pharmaceutical Technologist (1)
Overall Responsibility: Reporting the Pharmacy Manager, the successful candidate will provide both quality pharmacy services and healthcare in the Medical Centre.
Requirements and Qualifications
·         Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from KMTC or equivalent from a recognized institution.
·         Must be registered and licensed by the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board
·         Over one year working experience in a busy pharmacy
·         Over one year in inventory control and management
·         Knowledge in Computer Packages will be an added advantage

Medical Officer (1)
Reporting to the Manager – Medical Centre the successful candidate will be responsible for providing consultancy and quality clinical judgment to patients in Ambulatory and Emergency Medicine.
Other Responsibilities:
·         Assessment of patient and manage the patient case.
·         Performance of investigative and therapeutic procedures.
·         Perform minor surgeries.
·         Re-asses and follow up patients.
·         Be a good team player and work harmoniously with colleagues.
·         Comply with the hospital Confidentiality and privacy policies.
Requirements
·         M.B.Ch.B or equivalent from a recognized University.
·         More than one – year working experience.
·         Must be Registered / Licensed by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
·         Competency in emergency procedures e.g. ACLS, ATLS etc. will be an added advantage.
·         Excellent public relations and communication skills.

Resident Anaesthesiologist (1)
Overall Responsibility: The successful candidate will be expected to manage anesthesia services in the medical centre in accordance with our quality policy which emphasizes continuous improvement of service to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Requirements
·         M. Med in Anaesthesia from a recognized institution.
·         Must be Registered/Licensed by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
·         At least two years post graduate working experience.
·         Excellent PR and communication skills.

Resident Obstetrician / Gynaecologist (1)
Overall Responsibility: The successful candidate will be expected to provide quality Obstetrics and Gynaecology services to both outpatients and inpatients. He / She will be expected to be an active member of the health care team in the hospital and contribute to the continuing professional development programs of the hospital.
Requirements
·         M. Med in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from a recognized institution.
·         Must be registered / Licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
·         At least two years post graduate working experience.
·         Knowledge and interest in Laparoscopy will be an added advantage.
·         Candidate will be required to demonstrate the drive, desire and ability to enhance the scope of MCH services to increase access and satisfaction beyond our customer’s expectation.

Resident General Surgeon (1)
Overall Responsibility: The successful candidate will be expected to provide quality surgical services to hospital clients, participate actively in quality improvement activities including continuing medical education.
He / she will be expected to be an active member of the multidisciplinary health care team and contribute to the continuing professional development programs in the Hospital.
Requirements
·         M. Med in General Surgery from a recognized institution.
·         Must be Registered / Licensed by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
·         At least three years post graduate working experience.
·         Knowledge and interest in Endoscopy will be an added advantage.
·         Excellent PR and communication skills.

Resident Paediatrician (1)
Overall Responsibility: The successful candidate will provide quality paediatrics services to both outpatients and inpatients.
He / She will be expected to be an active member of the health care team in the hospital and contribute to the continuing professional development programs of the hospital.
Requirements
·         M. Med in Paediatrics from a recognized institution.
·         Must be registered/licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
·         Knowledge of PALS and experience in Neonatology will be an added advantage.
