Accountant
Role Description: The job holder will be responsible for Providing financial information and support to the management by compiling and analyzing financial information including monthly and annual accounts and also ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports and Substantiating financial transactions by auditing documents.
S/he will be responsible for managing and overseeing the procurement department to ensure procurement procedures are followed.
Key Responsibilities
·         Perform general Accounting duties including Preparing monthly accounts statements, monthly bank reconciliations, payroll processing, processing payments for suppliers, consultants (Trainers, others), bills and updating the accounting system.
·         Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
supervise timely and correct processing of claims to ensuring cost containment and adherence to the hospitals policies while attending to all activities of the claims department in the processing of insurance claims to achieve prompt, efficient, equitable and accurate processing and settlement including but not limited to ensuring that claims notified are covered in terms of the Policy issued and that they are registered promptly, enter new claims on the hospital computer system Management Information System (MIS), in a timely manner, analyze claims supporting documents to establish liability, communicate with intermediaries and direct clients to obtain information necessary for processing of claims, Liaise with the underwriters, beneficiaries, departments and subsidiary offices to facilitate claims processing.
·         Oversee debtors and creditors and ensure the reconciliation of their balances.
·         Confirm supplier invoices entered in system Knowledge
·         Processing and submissions of all statutory returns including as PAYE, VAT, NHIF, withholding Tax and all others that may be required from time to time.
·         Maintain cheque payment summary and petty cash.
·         Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
·         Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
·         Procurement of goods and services including pre-qualification of suppliers.
·         To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the hospital management from time to time.
Required qualifications, attributes and experience
·         Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting or relevant qualifications
·         CPA qualifications
·         At least 3 years’ experience in the Private, NGO or Public sector.
·         Previous training experience in accounts including use of Excel, accounts software such as QuickBooks, Sage, ERPs.
·         Experience in a hospital setting is an added advantage especially in the claims department.

Medical Officer
Role description: The position holder will be responsible for the effective management and care of patients with the aim of ensuring optimal delivery of quality patient care including daily hospital assessment and prescription of treatment for all patients attending the hospital to ensure that patients feel they have been dealt with in a professional, friendly and courteous manner. They will also be responsible for providing overall leadership and administrative support in the hospital.
Key responsibilities
Provide Primary Care Services as follows:
·         Urgent medical and nursing services (including resuscitation, stabilization and assessment and diagnosis, treatment and referral as may be necessary);
·         Assess the urgency and severity of presenting problems through history taking, examination and investigation.
·         Recommending and, where appropriate, undertaking treatment options and carrying out/referring for appropriate interventions and procedures, including but not limited to prescribing, minor surgery and other general practice procedures, counseling, psychological interventions, advising and education.
·         Referral for diagnostic, therapeutic and support services as required
Provide timely hospitalal and culturally appropriate health services through –
·         Ongoing health and development assessment and advice.
·         Appropriate evidence based screening, risk assessment and early detection of illness, disease and disability.
·         Interventions to assist people to reduce or change risky and harmful lifestyle behavior.
·         Family planning services, provision of contraceptive advice and sexual health services.
·         Ensure Immunization programmes are available to the practice population.
·         Ongoing care and support for people with chronic and terminal conditions to reduce deterioration, increase independence and reduce suffering linking, where relevant, with appropriate service providers.
Improve patient health through health education, counseling and information provision about how to improve health and prevent disease and interventions or treatments that treat risk factors.
Organize with the medical team weekly work and day off schedule
General patient management including:
·         Identify and coordinate referral of patients for further management.
·         Ensure proper documentation of patient notes.
·         Improve patient records in line with the reporting system.
·         Admit patients to the wards when necessary.
·         Carry out surgical procedures at the hospital
·         Attend to emergencies in the ward
·         Develop hospital protocols and procedures in line with the current SOPs.
·         Training of staff on job and theory sessions
·         Provide health talks to staff and patients
·         Advise the management and board on hospital requirements
·         Represent the hospital and liaise with county and national governments, to promote the hospitals programs
·         Pro-actively source for medical supplies in collaboration with hospital Director.
·         Overall supervision of the running of the laboratory, pharmacy, medical stores, X-ray, Dental, Eye, Physiotherapy, and medical records Units
·         Ensure students and interns on attachment are appropriately placed within medical departments and appropriately supervised.
·         Coordinating and administering relevant and timely continuous medical updates to other staff.
·         Conducting internal quality checks at the hospital
Carry out other relevant duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.
Required qualifications and experience
·         Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB or MBBS) from an accredited University
·         Registered and licensed with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board(KMPDB)
·         At least two years post internship experience in an accredited medical facility
·         ATLS and ACLS certification will be an added advantage

Role Description: The position holder will provide leadership to the Nursing function over and above providing professional nursing services.
Key Responsibilities

HR Officer
Role Overview: The Human Resource &Admin Officer will be in charge of the human resource function and co-ordinate the operations and activities of the Administration unit. S/he shall be will be involved in every level of administration through all of the main HR disciplines (recruitment, training and employee relations).
Key Result Areas / Responsibilities
·         Advising the management on matters related to human resource management;
·         Implementation and interpretation of the approved human resource and administrative policies, procedures and standards;
·         Documentation and management of all staff records and ensuring they are complete, accurate, securely well-kept and up to date;
·         Co-ordinate staff recruitment & selection, orientation & placement to respective departments;

Qualifications and Experience
The candidate should posses the following qualifications
·         A university degree in Human Resource Management or a degree in Business Related field from a recognized university.

·         Minimum 3 years’ relevant HR experience with 1-2 years in Management.

Maternal and Child Health Services Nurse (MCH)
Role Overview: The job holder will be responsible for providing holistic and responsive Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Services. He/she will be responsible for Providing a comprehensive Maternal and Child Health Service in the hospital to address and meet the needs of children under 6 years and their families.
Key roles
·         Ensure comprehensive MCH services including newborn screening, vaccination, integrated management of childhood illness (IMCI), immunization, PMTCT, Ante-Natal Care and delivery,
·         Providing help and guidance to pregnant women and seeing them through Labor, delivery, recovery, operational, postpartum and management of high-risk pregnancies.
·         Providing health education and counseling to patients/clients on identified health needs.
·         Promoting patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
·         Promoting, identifying, and teaching social, behavioral, and healthy habits to patients to promote good health to the child/mother.

Role Description: The job holder will be responsible for performing examinations, diagnosis and treatment of eye problems, perform eye surgery and prescribe eye glasses and contact lenses where necessary.
Key result areas/responsibilities
·         assess and examine patients in order to make a diagnosis
·         manage ophthalmic conditions, taking into account both the medical and psychological aspects of patient care
·         manage busy general outpatient hospitals, emergency eye hospitals and specialist hospitals
·         do occasional ward rounds (most ophthalmic patients have day surgery and don’t stay in hospital overnight)

Community Oral Health Officer (COHO)
Role Description: The position holder is responsible for the management and care of dental patients including clinical assessment and treatment in a professional and compassionate manner.
S/he will be responsible for performing routine dental procedures, proper patient examination and formulation of correct treatment plan.
Key Responsibilities
·         plan, organize, execute and coordinate oral health education according to the identified needs of the community
·         Welcoming, comforting and draping patients
·         Prepare treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols
·         Diagnose and treat common dental conditions and refer patients to a dentist for further review
·         Review pre-operative settings and ensure that the dentist has what is required to carry out dental procedures

·         Take, develop and mount radiographs required for corrective dental treatment

·         Perform simple extractions, place fissure sealants, and apply topical fluorides and temporary filings
·         Implement and adhere to infection prevention protocols including autoclaving instruments after use, cleaning the dental procedures space and storage of the clean instruments
·         Screening patients, reviewing a patients oral health history and teaching appropriate brushing and flossing techniques
·         maintain a record of day to day activities of the dental unit and prepare regular reports as needed
·         Provide necessary help to the dentist including mixing materials, trimming and polishing dental casts
