Senior Accountant

Responsibilities
·         Processing payment vouchers;
·         Examining payment vouchers;
·         Preparing financial management reports;
·         Complying with financial processes and procedures;
·         Complying with regulations pertaining to financial management and controls;

·         Ensuring projects overheads remittances are done;
·         Undertaking daily banking;
·         Carrying out data analysis to support preparation of accounting reports;
·         Balancing cashbooks on daily basis and providing cash liquidity analysis;
·         Preparing bank reconciliations and maintaining general ledger accounts;

Qualifications
·         Have served in the grade of Accountant for a minimum period of three (3) years;
·         Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Commerce (Accounting option); Commerce (Finance option); Business Administration (Accounting option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
·         Be Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
·         Be proficient in accounting packages;
·         Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution;
·         Attended a supervisory course lasting not less than four weeks;
·         Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;
·         Meets the provision of chapter six of the constitution.

Senior Environmentalist
REA 6 (1 Post)
Responsibilities
·         Preparation and evaluation of tenders for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for projects.
·         Carrying out Environmental Audits for existing projects (off grid power stations as well as long grid lines).
·         Preparation of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects as well as proposals for sale of carbon credits.
·         Participate in carbon trading negotiations.
·         Supervising the environmental and social impact assessment for REA’S projects;
·         Assessing the mitigation measures to address project impacts and identifying opportunities for value addition;
·         Conducting of statutory Annual Environmental Audits these include all REA’S region offices distribution line project;
·         Implementing of environmental management plans- distribution line construction and off grid projects;
·         Liaising with development partners to adopt best environmental socio-economic practices and comply with relevant frameworks as well as other performance standards;
·         Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental science or equivalent degree from a recognized university;
·         Registration with relevant environmental body;
·         Excellent written and oral communication skills;
·         Results oriented;
·         Proficient with office computer application;
·         Meets the provisions of chapter six of the Constitution.

Senior Engineer
REA 6 (1 Post)
Responsibilities
·         Ensuring safety standards are adhered to during the construction of grid projects;
·         Design, Supervision and commissioning of the project;
·         Development of the Department’s Work plan and budget;
·         Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sectional reports;
·         Implementation of the performance management system in the section;
·         Participate in departmental meetings;
·         Identify renewable energy projects including those sponsored by development partners;
·         Participate in factory acceptance test, supervision and commissioning;
·         Participate in the implementation of the performance management system in the section;
·         Prepare purchase order for projects in the department;
·         Supervise the design works in the department by the design team technicians and ensures that the work is done as per the set standards and is completed on schedule;
·         Collect and analyse technical data and prepare preliminary budget estimates for individual projects for planning purposes.
Qualifications
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering;
·         Registered with Engineers Board of Kenya as Registered Engineer;
·         Member of the Institute of Engineers of Kenya;
·         At least 7 years of relevant work experience with at least 4 years of supervisory experience;
·         Attended a management course lasting not less than four weeks;

Construction Manager

Responsibilities
·         Identify and Design Renewable Energy projects;
·         Supervision of construction lines and design works;
·         Commissioning of completed projects and preparation of construction and customer connections as per set standards;
·         Implement policies and programmes on power system design;
·         Compile projects technical reports including Design, Survey, Cartography and Wayleave;
·         Implement policies and programmes on power system design;
·         Provide technical leadership and guidance on matters pertaining to design of distribution and transmission lines as necessary;
·         Monitoring and evaluating implementation of Construction Performance Contracts;
·         Working with Corporate Planning in reviewing annually preparation of the Rural Electrification projects plan;
·         Coordinate and supervise construction of all REA grid projects;
·         Ensure that records of all grid projects constructed in the country are properly kept both at the Regional office and head office;
·         Responsible for the development of designs for all grid extension projects as per the acceptable standards;

Legal Clerk

Responsibilities
·         Assist in receiving sermons for litigation matters and opening court files;
·         Assist in managing court diaries and files;
·         Assist in managing bring ups on all legal matters;
·         Assist in drafting of court pleadings;
·         Assist in responding to correspondences and issues arising out of court matters;
·         Open files for new cases and keep an up to date record of all court cases;
·         Develop and maintain the filing registry for the Directorate;
·         Assist in managing and updating the court diary;

·         Monitoring and coordinating implementation of human resource management policies, rules and regulations;
