Job Purpose

The candidate is involved on assigned projects in a manner that exceeds customers’ expectations and ensures that work adheres to all company policies is required and transform the abstract blueprints of design engineers and architects into residential and commercial subdivisions, residential homes either multi storied or single dwellings and other structures.

Responsibilities

o Managing and planning the construction project

o Designing the project structures and hydraulic systems

o Surveying the construction site and providing a detailed report on how to carry out the project and its consequences

o Liaising with local authorities, municipal councils, environmental agencies and statutory authorities and government departments on the requirements and implications of the construction

o Ensuring Occupational Health & Safety compliance on site

o Arm subordinate staff with relevant information on construction

o Advising the workers on the construction process and addressing their concerns

o Solving construction problems as soundly as possible

o Keeping Management and relevant stakeholders informed of progress including possible impediments to construction works

o Conducting surveys on the sites where the construction is to take place

o Acting as the quality control and assurance to ensure that the project objectives are met

o Budget for the project within an estimated cost

o Obtaining the construction materials and verifying them

o Controlling the cost of the materials and labor

o Selecting the ideal equipment’s to be used

o Scheduling the construction work

o Laying down the preferred construction methods

o Ensuring that the project starts on time and ends within the estimated duration

Qualifications

o Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

o Valid Professional Engineering Licensure

o Minimum of 10 years of project engineering and management experience

o Well versed in Local regulatory and permitting requirements, as well as local standards and procedures.

o Ability to use Autodesk relevant programs and Microsoft ‘Office’ suite

o Familiar with LEED qualifications.

o Familiar with additive manufacturing modular construction methods

o Critical thinking abilities, to enable one to integrate enormous amounts of information to design systems that prevent problems;

Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Purpose

The Senior Engineer – Electrical provides operational power by developing and maintaining the Company’s engineering procedures. Involvement of assigned projects in a manner that exceeds customers’ expectations and ensures that work adheres to all company policies is required.

Responsibilities

o Assists in the development, review and approval of construction plans, including goals and objectives, work breakdown structure, detailed scope descriptions, detailed schedules, risk management approach, milestone descriptions, budgets and staffing requirements.

o Provides technical support to marketing for bids and proposals.

o Manages, expedites, and supports consultants’ and construction document submittals, budgets, and schedules.

o Maintains and fosters contacts with consultants, contractors, vendors, and material suppliers.

o Assists with the development of new Engineering standards and maintains and improves existing standards and guidelines, implementing industry and company best practices.

o Acts as a subject matter expert regarding some electrical engineering activities.

o Interacts closely with internal teams to ensure that project needs and objectives are met.

o Prepares engineering scope documents, exhibits, budgets, specifications, schedules, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

o Leads or participates in project meetings and conference calls.

o Produces quality engineering plans, studies, and specifications while ensuring compliance with department, project, company, utility, regional electrical entity, and industry requirements and standards.

o Participates in engineering, design, and construction review processes.

o Leads and conducts value-engineering studies of alternative design approaches.

o Interprets plans, specifications, drawings, and documents related to engineering and construction.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client a company based in Africa providing innovative solutions through Green technologies in the field of real estate is looking to hire Senior Quantity Surveyor.

Job Purpose

The candidate is required to provide commercial support to the project team, maintaining commercial information and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and ensure that the Company’s ‘Three Pillar’ objectives are achieved. They will liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues including agreement of variations, claims and any additional payments

Responsibilities

o Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level

o Ensure accurate cash flow reporting takes place

o Carry out cost management including forecasting

o Update the monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans and have accountability, along with the project team for the commercial performance and strategy

o Help ensure that commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit

o Ensure that the supply chain is engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions

o Ensure that good client relationships are fostered

o Be responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation and financial accounting

o Effectively assist in managing the commercial team, including cost clerks and commercial support staff

o Ensure effective interaction between the commercial team and the operational site teams Supervise and mentor Quantity Surveyors

Qualifications

o Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent

o Previous experience of the civil engineering industry Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract and knowledge of current Construction Law

o Extensive experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates and accruals calculations

o Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis

o Valid Professional Licensure

o Minimum of 10 years of project engineering and management experience

o Well versed in Local regulatory and permitting requirements, as well as local standards and procedures.

o Ability to use Autodesk relevant programs and Microsoft ‘Office’ suite

o Familiar with additive manufacturing modular construction methods

o Must have experience of construction machines and equipment like Batching Plants, Tower Cranes and other latest technology;

Senior Structural Engineer

Job Purpose

The candidate role will include performing and managing simple and complex analysis, design and documentation of various structures with emphasis on buildings, parking structures, water and wastewater treatment facilities, telecommunications structures, retaining walls, foundations, structure replacements and rehabilitations as well as conducting field investigation and construction phase observation

Responsibilities

o Perform design and analysis functions for various structures

o Conduct assessments and evaluations of existing structures

o Attend meetings with clients, jurisdictional agencies, other professionals and organizations

o Supervise others including but not limited to administrative, technical and professional staff

o Develop solutions to challenges presented by the client within budget, schedule and project constraints

o Issue reports, schedules, estimates of probable costs, responses to SOIs, RFPs

o Review designs prepared by others as part of a TQM process

o Perform peer reviews, forensic studies and expert reporting and witness services

o Manage, administer and design structural projects and structural components of non-structural projects

Qualifications

o Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

o Valid Professional Engineering Licensure

o Extensive experience with layout & design of light steel gage structures

o Familiar with additive manufacturing and onsite manufacturing of modular construction methods

o Familiarity with design and analysis using various materials including but not limited to metals such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum & iron; concrete and precast concrete; prestressed and post-tensioned concrete; timber; HMA; synthetics; composites; epoxies/resins/polymers; FRP; HDPE
