finest modern Indian restaurant in Kenya is urgently looking to hire a talented
and highly energetic Barman with an innate passion for delivering outstanding
service.
The successful candidate will be
responsible for providing customers with fast and friendly service in F&B
to maintain the restaurant’s energy and help in our Client’s mission of
providing each customer with excellent customer service and other matters by
performing the following duties;
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
·
Interact with customers, take orders
for drinks and snacks or Serve snacks and drinks to the customer
·
Plan and present bar menu
·
Check identification of the guest to
make sure they meet age requirements for purchase of alcohol and tobacco
products
·
Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
and other drinks.
·
Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar
beverages as ordered and in compliance with hotel standard drink recipes
·
Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol
beverages
·
Service Wine and Beer to guests
·
Arrange bottles and glasses to make
attractive displays
·
Assess customers’ needs and
preferences and make recommendations
·
Ability to sell or influence others
for up selling and suggestive selling
·
Provide recommendations and
suggestions to guest for choosing Drinks and Snacks
·
Serve customers in a friendly and
helpful manner
·
Keep the bar counter and work area
neat and clean at all times
·
Determine when a customer has had too
much alcohol and if required refusing any further serving on a polite way
·
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of
food and beverage products, menus and promotions
·
Handle and move objects, such as
glasses and bottles, using hands and arms
·
Clear ashtrays as and when required
·
Wash glassware and utensils after
each use
·
Maintain a clean working area by
sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of glass doors and windows, etc. if
required
·
Maintain liquor inventory and
consumption
·
Collect payment for drinks served and
balance all receipts
·
Prepare inventory or purchase
requisitions as needed to replenish supplies
·
Ensure that the assigned bar area is
fully equipped with tools and products needed for Mixing beverages and serving
guests
·
Stay guest focused and nurture an
excellent guest experience
·
Comply with all food and beverage
regulations
·
Perform other duties as and when
assigned by the restaurant management
Key Competencies & Qualifications
·
Diploma in Food in Food and Beverage
Service or any other related field from a recognized institution
·
Must have at least 3 – 5 years
previous bartending experience in a Mid-scale or Luxury property
·
Experience in handling Point of Sale
(POS) terminals and Stock & Inventory management software
·
Results-oriented with ability to stay
energetic and motivated throughout the shift as necessary
·
Good interpersonal skills
·
Computer Knowledge and experience in
MS office programs
Position: Waitress / Waiter
Location: Nairobi,

urgently looking to hire talented, dynamic and highly energetic Waitress /
Waiter with an innate passion for delivering outstanding service.
He/she
will be responsible for providing customers with fast and friendly service in
F&B to maintain the restaurant’s energy and help in our Client’s mission of
providing each customer with excellent customer service and other matters by
performing the following duties;
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Greet guests and present them with
the menu
·
Inform guests about the special items
for the day and menu changes if any
·
Suggest food and beverages to the
guest and also try to upsell
·
Take food and beverage orders from
the guest on the order taking pads or on the handheld Point of sale (POS)
system
·
Server food and beverages to guests
as per the course of order, restaurant standards in a friendly, timely and
efficient manner
·
Obtain revenues, issuing receipts,
accepting payments, returning the change
·
Perform basic cleaning tasks as
needed or directed by supervisor.
·
Filling in for absent staff as needed
·
Punch the order on the POS machine
and make sure to enter the special requirements made by the guest while
ordering the food. E.g. No Garlic, less spicy, without egg etc.
·
Communicate to the guest and provide
assistance with their queries
·
Co – ordinate with the kitchen staff,
bar staff to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction
·
Observe guests and ensure their
satisfaction with the food and service
·
Promptly respond to guest with any
additional request
·
Maintaining proper dining experience,
delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks,
removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses
·
Properly open and pour wine at the
tableside
·
Adhere to grooming and appearance
standards consistently
·
Communicate products and services
available at the restaurant
·
Help other areas of the restaurant
such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions
·
Tally the Credit Card settlements for
the day with the batch closing report from EDC machine
·
Close the shift on the POS terminal
·
Stay guest focused and nurture an
excellent guest experience
·
Comply with all food and beverage
regulations
·
Perform other duties as and when
assigned by the restaurant management
Key Competencies & Qualifications
