Programme Officer (Disability Inclusive Development)

With focus on inclusive education the Programme Officer will work to enhance the quality of the Disability Inclusive Development (DID) Project, by working closely with partners and programme delivery. This role will ensure that the programme is planned, implemented, coordinated, monitored and evaluated to the highest possible standards.

The post holder will:
·         Build effective partner relationships and support longer-term relationships that go beyond the project duration as well as support partners to identify their own technical and organizational capacity- building needs, establish agreements with partners where appropriate and promote shared learning and collaboration.
·         Work with the UK Disability Inclusive Development programme team and all members of the consortia to coordinate implementation of activities and sharing of lessons learned.
·         Manage all aspects of the programme cycle, ensure that all project documentation and reports are made available in a timely and accessible way, assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and be proactive in providing good quality information in case studies and interesting news stories relating to the programme.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or above in Education; demonstrate experience of working in different education settings; have knowledge of current issues, best practices and an understanding of the local education system, particularly relating to the education of children with disabilities, and be familiar with national legislation and policies in the field of disability, human rights and education. A background in Early Childhood Education being a distinct advantage.

The Programme Officer (Inclusion Works) will work with Disabled People’s Organizations and employer partners of the project to enhance access to employment in the formal sector for persons with disabilities.

This role will ensure that the programme is planned, implemented, coordinated, monitored and evaluated to the highest possible quality standards.
The post holder will:
·         Build effective partner relationships and support longer-term relationships that go beyond the duration of the project, support needs and facilitate access to technical assistance resources and opportunities to support them through the programme cycle, and assist programme partners in the preparation budgets and forecasts.
·         Work with the UK Inclusive Works programme team and all members of the consortia to coordinate implementation of activities and sharing of lessons learned
·         Manage all aspects of the programme cycle with the partners, work with the Global Technical Lead (Disability Inclusive Economic Empowerment) and coordinate with the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) leads for implementation of monitoring and evaluation system for the programme.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or above, in education, development studies, public health or any other relevant social science; be familiar with national legislation and policies in the field of disability, human rights and employment.
The successful applicant will have significant experience implementing programmes of the disability sector and gender mainstreaming, a background of providing technical assistance and knowledge of current issues and best practices in disability, UNCRPD and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
