Managing Director

Reporting to the KCB Group Regional Businesses Director and the KCB Bank South Sudan Ltd Board of Directors, this position is responsible for the general management of the KCB Bank South Sudan Ltd, formulation and implementation of strategy and plans to drive the growth, profitability and relevant market share increase in a manner that substantively contributes to the KCB Group Plc strategy and plans.
Responsibilities

·         Provide overall business and Company Executive Committee Leadership as well as develop and implement the Company Business Strategy.
·         Championing modern and seamless end to end banking services delivery through use of information technology to match with the emerging industry trends to grow business, profits and manage change.
·         Drive profitability, growth and relevant market share whilst ensuring the KCB brand is strong and prominent.
·         Leverage the opportunities provided by KCB Group to generate business and referrals for business across the Group.
·         Build partnerships with strategic business units and stakeholders through effective communication and networking as well as ensure compliance to statutory banking requirements.
·         Promote customer centric culture to provide exceptional service delivery at all business levels.
·         Embed strong risk excellence culture and adherence to internal controls and procedures.
·         Ensure recruitment and maintenance of good quality asset book
·         Provide input in the development, implementation and compliance with KCB credit policies and to also adhere to best practices and prudential regulations.
·         Monitor and respond to economic, business and political trends and their impact on the Country Banking industry.
·         Develop new Banking Products and Services to meet the Market needs and expectations.
·         Maintain corporate image, which promotes ethical practices and good corporate governance.
·         Develop a High Performing, Motivated Cross-Cultural Team that will deliver business targets.
·         Prepare and present KCB Subsidiary periodic business strategy and performance updates as well as Market environment assessments to the Country Board of Directors.
Qualifications
·         University Degree preferably in Business related field. Having a post graduate and or Banking qualification will be an added advantage.
·         8-10 years’ experience in commercial banking with at least five years in a senior to top management position.
·         Working knowledge of geopolitical and economic landscape, the regional banking Industry, latest market trends as well as challenges.
·         Excellent Cross-Cultural People Management skills, Team Motivation and Leadership Competence.
·         Risk management and internal controls knowledge and competence
·         Networking and interpersonal skills with proven people, leadership, communication and negotiation skills.

Application Developer

Reporting to the Lead Applications Developer, the application developer (integration support engineer) shall build and customize applications, systems and interfaces to support the bank’s digital platform, internal processes and other business units. The developer will interact with third party service providers as well as other internal digital financial services units.
The holder must demonstrate a strong understanding of and high regard for hand-held devices and web solutions as business delivery channels for both bank corporate and retail customers as well as for online agency banking services.
Responsibilities
·         Developing designated software within the Bank to ensure that the software needs are met within the agreed timelines.
·         Documenting system developments in accordance to the application development policy.
·         Defining designated business functional and technical requirements that would guide procurement of various software needed by the Bank
·         Customizing and implementing acquired software to enable automated functionality.
·         Specifying and ensuring application controls are incorporated during design of the software in order to check on risk exposure.
·         Defining and testing the software or systems after development to ensure that the set functional and security parameters are in place.
·         Build interfaces between systems.
·         Drive and deliver on the team goals and objectives by offering effective participation.
·         Defining and reviewing test strategy and an operational test plan methodology.
·         React quickly to application development related security incidents to regain customer confidence

Qualifications
·         Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field from an Institution recognized by the Commission for University Education
·         3 years’ experience of Development in a cross-platform, multi-tier environment with a bias in System Integration with Telcos, Mobile Money Systems and ecommerce APIs e.g. Paypal, Mastercard, Visa among others
·         3 years’ experience of programming language such as PHP, Python and/or Java, Angular Js, Vue Js is required
·         2 years’ working experience in Web, Mobile or POS application development & have demonstrable record of accomplishment in development of digital products and solutions.
·         2 years’ experience in integrating with third party APIs preferably using REST, SOAP and TCP/IP protocols
·         Experience in Core Banking System programming would be an added advantage.
·         2 years’ Relational database and SQL development experience
·         Open source framework experience such as Struts, Spring, Caster, Quartz, DWR, JQuery
·         Message based application development using JMS, MQ Series/Rabbit MQ.
·         Development experience using RAD/Eclipse/Netbeans tool
·         Web services standards and related technology knowledge (XML, XSD, WSDL SOAP, Rest etc.)
·         Knowledge in Administration of application server (WebSphere, TC Server, Jboss, Tomcat) and MQ Series
·         In-depth knowledge of software development life cycle.
·         Knowledge of IBM product suite (IIB, WMQ, Datapower, BPM and/or ODM) would be an added advantage
·         Strong passion for coding, and technical aptitude, including the ability to understand detailed technical information

Risk Manager

Responsibilities
·         Review industry rules and regulations ensuring Capital Market Authority, Nairobi Security Exchange & Central Depository Settlement Corporation regulatory requirements are compiled with and/or operationalized in the business.

·         Continuously monitor changes / reviews in the regulatory framework ensuring that contractual documents; policies and procedures are up to date and complied with.
·         Monitor all Brokerage transactions and advise on their potential adverse implications for KCB Capital while ensuring the implementation of mitigating strategies.
·         Continuously review and confirm that all Risks aspects (Credit, Market, Legal and Operational Risks) affecting the Business have been identified, assessed and controlled.
·         Prepare reports for Management review as well as for the Regulators within the stipulated guidelines and timelines.
·         Review all complaints lodged by clients and counterparties and recommend actions to address any weakness in the Internal Systems that led to actions causing the complaint.
·         Conduct surprise checks to monitor and ensure adequate operational control standards are in place.
·         Provide continuous training / engagements to the Business team and other stakeholders on regulatory issues pertaining to KCB Capital.
·         Monitor the Company’s Risk Register & KRIs ensuring adequate and relevant Business Continuity Plans are maintained and tested regularly.
·         Support the business in driving its strategic plans including formulation of annual plans. Calculation of Risk-Based Capital as per CMA requirements.
·         Coordinate improvement of the Company’s risk matrix to capture all the inherent risks and their mitigating controls.
Qualifications
·         Business related degree from an institution recognized by Commission for Higher Education.
·         Professional qualification in ACCA / CPA (K) / CFA / AKIB or MBA is an added advantage.
·         Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Financial Services Industry; 2 years’ of which must have been in a compliance, monitoring & reporting role as per CMA, NSE & CDSC regulatory requirements.
·         Minimum of 2 years’ working experience in operations role that is regulated by Capital Markets Authority, Nairobi Security Exchange and Central Depository Settlement Corporation
·         Sound appreciation of Risk Management with a thorough knowledge of Brokerage / Investment Banking products & services; internal controls, operations and regulatory environment
·         Experience in Stakeholder management and Relationship Building within Brokerage / Investment Banking sector
·         Team player with demonstrated work ethics; consistently demonstrates a high level of professionalism.
·         Effective prioritization skills to meet a complex set of business demands and demonstrate delivery against multiple objectives.
·         Assertive, self-motivated with the desire to succeed in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Special Assets Manager

Reporting to the Head Special Assets, the position will be responsible for the implementation of the Special Assets Sector strategy including delivery of turnaround strategies to a portfolio of predominantly Corporate customers experiencing financial stress.
The role holder will make recommendation on cases above discretion, monitoring the objectives, strategies and actions that need to be adopted to address business-risk issues, reduce the Bank’s risk and achieve long lasting turnaround solutions so that the customer can be returned to acceptable Credit Risk profile.
Responsibilities
·         To implement the Special Assets Sector strategy in line with the overall Corporate Banking Strategy; to address Business risk issues in Corporate portfolio in conjunction with the Corporate Unit Heads/ Relationship Managers.
·         Review and understand complex Early Alert and Recovery Corporate client’s relationshipsBe the reference point for Corporate Relationship and Credit teams for discussions on cases or where more general input from turnaround “specialist” is required.
·         Support the Corporate and Credit Director in the early identification of problem accounts.
·         Communicate key Risks on Deals both internally and externally in a professional manner.
·         Manage customer relationships ensuring Business and Banking risk issues are addressed in a timely manner.
·         Lead detailed negotiations with customers, obtain commitment to implement appropriate strategies and actions to improve Business and Bank risk concerns. Monitor customers’ progress by appraising results revealed by their reporting.
·         Sanction new lending propositions, strategies and actions demonstrating well thought out decisions and judgement for deals within discretion, undertake analysis and recommendations for decision above discretion.
·         Proactively develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders including regulators, build and develop relationship across the bank to breakdown silos and maximize business growth. Represent the Bank in lenders meetings for syndicated or problem accounts.
·         Develop a network of Professionals contacts in order to maximize benefits in the development of Turnaround/Exit strategies & solutions.
·         Manage the Service Level Agreements with the relevant stakeholders including Accountants, Turnaround managers, Solicitors and Property professionals in preparation of instructions and review of results.
·         Ensure compliance to the Bank’s policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Ensure sufficient IFRS9 and Regulatory impairment is recognized for portfolio under control.
·         Share ‘Lessons Learned’ with Corporate Relationship and Credit teams.
Qualifications
·         University Degree preferably in a Business related field from an Institution recognized by Commission of Higher Education.
·         Master’s degree or professional qualifications in a relevant field preferably CPA/ ACCA /CFA/ AKIB will be an added advantage.
·         Have at least 8 years’ management experience in Special Assets Unit / Business Support & Recovery Unit; having had 6 years’ experience with below key responsibilities:
1.  Credit and Risk Management
2.  Relationship Management
3.  Financial Analysis and Business Performance Management
4.  Corporate Portfolio management: Credit / Loan Restructuring / Legal & Security Structures
5.  Management of Delinquent Accounts / Recoveries
6.  Leadership and Team management
·         Thorough knowledge of Corporate Banking Products & Services with extensive Banking Industry knowledge.
·         Excellent interpersonal, and negotiation skills with the ability to network and develop strong business relations.
·         A good understanding of Risk, Compliance policies and procedures; Products, Credit Policies, Standards and Procedures
