The Short-Term Business (GB) is seeking to fill the below listed position with dynamic, forward thinking achievers with expertise in the General Insurance field.
Assistant Business Development Manager

Purpose of the Role: Reporting to the Business Development Manager – GB, the Assistant Manager will drive sales and achieve the premium targets for the respective channel of business, oversee the management of relationships and act as the point of contact for the various business channels.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
·         Take overall responsibility for the operations of the channel of business in consultation with the Business Development Manager
·         In consultation with the Business Development Manager, formulate and implement a compelling business and growth plan for the channels to ensure attainment of allocated production budget (new business, renewals and organic growth), business mix (including motor & non-motor and profitability of the respective segments.
·         Participate in the development and implementation of the Company’s marketing plans as formulated through the respective business development Departments of the short term business lines.
·         Gather market intelligence on competitor activities and undertake regular feedback from our business partners on satisfaction with the Company’s product offerings with a view of defending the company’s market share and improving premium income.
·         Conduct training sessions for existing and prospective partner agents/broker/banks/Direct Corporates on the Company’s products and offerings.
·         Actively identify and pursue prospective relationships with suitable partners.
·         Ensure adherence to all sales, operations and compliance guidelines for all business acquired through the respective channels.
·         Gather, monitor and report on competitor activity including products and policy contract packaging, target markets and clients, premium rates and underwriting techniques that have the potential to impact the business
Qualifications and Experience
·         Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Insurance
·         Specialized training in Insurance: ACII or progress in ACII
·         8 years’ experience in marketing general insurance business products, 3 of which should be in a supervisory role
Required skills and Competencies
·         In depth understand of local Insurance laws, practices and regulatory requirements in Kenya
·         Good communication and presentation skills
·         Confident, self–driven & flexible
·         Good planning skills
·         Experience in strategic planning

SNR. Broker Consultant

Purpose of the Role: Reporting to the Assistant Business Development Manager – GB, the Snr. Broker Consultant will play a key role in business acquisition and implementation of sales strategies to ensure achievement of premium targets.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
·         Generate business revenue (new business, organic growth and renewal premium income) so as to meet business targets and objectives.
·         Undertake daily marketing activities and business sourcing to ensure achievement of monthly business targets both in revenue and portfolio.
·         Actively seek new business avenues from Brokers through recruitments and reactivations
·         Handle to conclusion all business enquiries and coordinate with the underwriting department to ensure competitive quotations to clients
·         Undertake business presentations and trainings to intermediaries and their clients so as to close and secure new and renewal business.
·         In liaison with the underwriting department recommend and conduct risk surveys for business above the set threshold and recommend to the client, necessary risk improvement measures.
·         Prepare periodical reports on own production targets and business leads.

·         Establish effective relationships and SLA management with internal and external stakeholders.
·         Act as liaison between Brokers and all other departments to service excellence
·         Effectively manage relationships with Direct Corporates and Brokers
Qualifications and Experience
·         Bachelors’ Degree in Insurance or any relevant field
·         Professional qualifications in Insurance (ACII/ IIK) or Progress in ACII/IIK
·         At least 5 years’ experience in marketing general insurance business products

Marketing Officer – Marine Business

Purpose of the Role: Reporting to the Assistant Business Development Manager – GB, the Marketing Officer – Marine Insurance will play a key role in business acquisition and implementation of sales strategies to ensure achievement of premium targets.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
·         Generate marine business revenue so as to meet business targets and objectives.
·         Undertake daily marketing activities and business sourcing to ensure achievement of monthly business targets both in revenue and portfolio.
·         Actively pursue marine portal referrals /engagements and seek new business
·         Participate fully in developing and implementing effective marketing strategies to compete with companies who sell marine insurance in line with the overall Corporate strategy
·         Handle to conclusion all business enquiries either on the portal, email, direct etc and coordinate with the underwriting department to ensure competitive quotations to clients and issuance of marine certificates
·         Undertake business presentations and trainings to intermediaries/ clearing & forwarding agents and clients so as to close and secure new business
·         In liaison with the underwriting department ensure all Marine cargo inspections are undertaken at the port and reports filed
·         Collaborate with manager/supervisor in preparing budgets and monitoring expenses for the Marine Insurance segment.
·         Conduct sales presentations to target market on Marine insurance offerings, coverage, features, online process and claims handling to promote sale of insurance.
·         Liaise with Cargo Surveillance unit to inspect landed cargo at the port or warehouse -examining its general condition to ensure safety & safeguard Company’s interests
Qualifications and Experience
·         Bachelors’ Degree in Insurance or any relevant field
·         Professional qualifications in Insurance (ACII/ IIK) or Progress in ACII/IIK
·         At least 4 years working within an insurance company or a large broker, preferably within a Marine & GIT segment/section
Required Skills and Competencies
·         Good understanding of other non- motor insurance policies including property & liability classes of insurance etc.( Fire Commercial & Domestic, Burglary, GPA/WIBA/EL)
·         Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
·         Confident, self –driven with strong work ethic
