Product Manager – Open Banking (Open APIs)

Reporting to the Head – E-Channels and E-Commerce, the role holder will be responsible for Open Banking API propositions and will lead the ideation, conceptualization, implementation, management and enhancement of the Open Banking (APIs) strategy, programs, initiatives, research and projects i.e. successfully Open Banking (APIs) product delivery from concept to commercialization.
The Role
Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:
·         Lead in new product development and implementation i.e. the conceptualization of new ideas, researching, and evaluating them objectively from a market and financial standpoint.
·         Manage the entire development process from conceptualization, design, delivery, launch and return on investment.
·         Promote product awareness via appropriate internal training and marketing as well as ensuring overall attainment of all cash management sales target.
·         Regularly review and monitor the sale of Open Banking (APIs) to current and prospective customers of the Bank in order to generate maximum income and return on investment.
·         Develop all customer wireframes and user cases, ensure optimal level of customer services, analyze all customer requirements, monitor all requests, and manage all defects in products for all monthly releases.
·         Administer and approve all final new product delivery and recommend improvements to all products and prepare all business requirements documents and ensure compliance to all product schedule and coordinate with departments to provide an effective interface.
·         Collaborate with information technology and business units to deliver all releases, prepare work schedule for all projects, and provide support to all strategies to achieve all marketing strategies.
·         Effectively determine Open Banking (APIS) strategy and pricing to expand market share.
·         Effectively segment the target market, gather market intelligence and identify opportunities for the bank to position Open Banking (APIs) in the market.
Skills, Competencies and Experience
The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills and competencies:
·         A Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Information Technology related field.
·         5+ years of experience in business management/product development & management/ system analysis in the financial sector.
·         Experience in regional APIs delivery with extensive knowledge in Open Banking.
·         Excellent knowledge of operational and systems user requirements for financial products.
·         Commercial awareness to understand and apply commercial and financial principles to business thinking.
·         Sound understanding of marketing principles, ideally backed with suitable experience.
·         Knowledge and effective application of all relevant banking strategies, policies, processes, procedures, guidelines and project management methodology and to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks.

Reporting to the Director – Co-operatives Banking Division, the role holder will be responsible for developing, scaling up and supporting channels solutions for cooperatives sector to ring fence the sector for Non Funded Income and liabilities growth in tandem with the emerging digital trends.
The role holder will also be required to drive innovation in the cooperatives sector and maintain solid relationship and partnership with clients, and stake holders on channels
The Role
The successful jobholder will be expected to:
·         Spearhead the implementation of the digital strategy for Co-operatives.
·         Lead the innovations framework of the Division in tandem with the bank’s overall innovation strategy.
·         Lead Channels development and support for the co-operative sector and support the channels to run optimally.

·         Scale up existing channels in tandem with the current clients’ needs and sector trends.
·         Develop ideas into products to enable the Bank stay ahead of competition.
·         Drive penetration and utilization of the channels through client hand holding, training, marketing and promotion, ensuring successful implementation of the sector’s products / projects.
·         Collaborate with our ICT, Wholesale Banking, Vendors and Fintech organizations to support and derive maximum benefits from the channels.
·         Be the point of contact with critical partners/stakeholders to give input/requirements for any projects involving the sector’s products.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
The successful jobholder will be required to possess the following qualifications: –
·         A Bachelor’s degree in a Business related field from a recognized university.
·         A minimum 3 years relevant experience in relationship management. Experience working with the Co-operatives will be an added advantage.
·         A minimum 2 years relevant experience business and product development in the financial industry.
·         A proven record of successful business development initiatives particularly within the Co-operatives sector.
·         Good accounting knowledge especially understanding the preparation of financial statements, ratio analysis and interpretation.
·         Good knowledge of the Co-operative Sector with a good understanding of the different types of cooperatives.
·         Excellent communication & inter-personal skills as well as the capability to understand, manage, deploy and support several products.
·         Demonstrated leadership, people management, and project management skills

The Chinese-speaking Relationship Manager will be charged with the responsibility of establishing and deepening value driven cordial banking relationships with all clients within the target market segment.

The Role
Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:
·         Develop an intimate understanding of the Chinese markets, industry and business; understand the needs and ways of working, business practices and market conditions affecting the long term sustainability and viability of the business and sector.
·         Formulate acquisition strategies of obtaining new clients and nurture the relationships especially those in the Chinese segment to ensure that the Bank maximizes on the Business potential / wallet size of the customer ensuring that they enjoy the highest standards of service.
·         Develop forecasts and execute strategies on how to grow the liabilities, forex turnover & income, trade finance business secured by cash margins, cash management business through the use of cards and growth to boost the bank’s profitability.
·         Establish partnership with various Chinese associations and develop and package winning value propositions targeting major relationships with huge potential for stable deposits, quality asset offerings and substantial non -funded income opportunities.
·         Provide specialist input on specific products and product mix for the Chinese business segment at the appropriate time and level in order to create solutions which effectively satisfy client needs.
·         Proactively monitor markets and pre-empt risks for both the Bank and the client with timely identification of potential problem accounts and formulating appropriate risk mitigating strategies
·         Keep abreast of developments in the market; be aware of projects to be carried out by parastatals, government ministries and developmental agencies and their various sources of funding with a view to market for collection business from cash rich corporates with large collections volumes.
Desired Skills and Experience
·         A Bachelor’s degree in Business related field: Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or any other relevant field from a recognized university.
·         Fluent speaking and writing in Mandarin and English language.
·         A good understanding of the Chinese culture and work ethics preferably having studied, worked and lived in China.
·         A minimum 3 years’ experience as a Relationship Manager preferably managing corporate and institutional clients.
·         Knowledge of various products and services targeting Chinese business segments.
·         Knowledgeable in structuring and execution of Trade Finance transactions and experience in corporate lending.
·         Excellent understanding of credit, business and industry-associated risks profile of diverse industries.
·         Analytical and presentation skills for pitching proposals and responses to Request For Proposals and for preparing complex credit applications
