Our client, Brown’s Food Company, is the umbrella brand for Brown’s Cheese, Delia’s Ice Cream and The Cracker Shack. They make a range of high-quality natural cheeses, fast moving commodities e.g. cheddar and mozzarella as well as butter and yoghurt.

They sell the products in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and South Sudan.
The company is seeking to recruit a highly talented individual to fill in the following position:
Floor Supervisor
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Floor Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring and organizing production workflow as well as ensuring all the products conform to the set standards.

This position will be based in Tigoni, Kiambu County.
Principal Accountabilities
·         Ensuring proper operation of the factory tools and equipment
·         Providing manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data
·         Issuing and ensuring personnel are in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as well as tools as necessary
·         Coordinating production planning to ensure that products are supplied quickly and efficiently as per customer demand
·         Ensuring product make sheets are followed to the latter and scheduling and monitoring production shifts
·         Maintaining a safe and clean work environment at all times by educating and directing personnel
·         Monitoring the post handling of products to ensure conformity to standards
·         Maintaining safe and clean work environment by training staff on proper use of equipment
·         Ensuring employees understand and comply with all SOP’s and food safety guidelines
Key Skills and Qualifications
·         A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in any relevant field
·         A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position in food processing industry
·         Excellent ability for planning, development and operations
·         Excellent report writing skills, communication skills and problem-solving skills
·         Proven team leadership skills

Assistant Milk Quality Assurance Officer
Reporting to the Milk Quality Assurance Officer, the Assistant Milk Quality Assurance Officer will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of dairy raw milk of the highest quality, preparing and submitting monthly quality reports.
The incumbent will interface directly with executive leadership, department managers, and third parties to drive profitable growth and continuous improvement of company processes.
This position will be based in Embu County.
Principal Accountabilities
·         Assisting teams in applying information for process improvement and resolution of quality issues
·         Participating in internal and external supplier audits
·         Following up and analyzing customer complains
·         Troubleshooting and taking corrective action on the line
·         Overseeing proper hygiene in milk handling processes and ensuring that the appropriate tests on milk are carried out and recorded
·         Coordinating work and staff including milk transporters
·         Putting in place best practices across the business with focus on quality and efficiency
·         Assisting in preparing and submitting milk purchasing reports

·         Assisting in enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the milk procurement process
Key Skills and Qualifications
·         At least a Diploma in Food Science and Technology or related course
·         At least 3 years of experience in a quality assurance department for a company in the dairy industry
·         Must have food handler certification
·         Ability to make independent and objective decisions
·         Excellent negotiating skills, report writing skills, communication skills, problem solving skills as well as critical thinking

Milk Quality Assurance Officer
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Milk Quality Assurance Officer will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of dairy raw milk of the highest quality, preparing and submitting monthly quality reports.
The incumbent will interface directly with executive leadership, department managers, and third parties to drive profitable growth and continuous improvement of company processes.
This position will be based in Embu County.
Principal Accountabilities
·         Ensuring that milk received satisfies the pre-scribed quality requirements of the company
·         Enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the milk procurement process
·         Overseeing proper hygiene maintenance in the handling of milk and ensuring that the appropriate tests on milk are carried out and recorded
·         Supervising and coordinating work and staff including milk transporters
·         Ensuring that all dairy suppliers meet the quality criteria of the company program
·         Continuously improving best practices across the business with focus on quality and efficiency
·         Updating existing Food Safety Procedures and documentation to keep up with changing requirements
·         Preparing and submitting daily, weekly and monthly milk purchasing reports
Key Skills and Qualifications
·         At least a Diploma in Food Science and Technology or related course
·         At least 3 years of experience in a quality assurance department in a company in the dairy industry
·         Must have food handlers’ certification
·         Excellent negotiation skills
·         Ability to make independent and objective decisions
·         Excellent report writing skills, communication skills and problem-solving skills as well as proven team leadership skills
