Branch Manager – Kisii
Reporting to the Chief Manager
Operations & Branches, the incumbent will be responsible for achievement of
business targets and effective management of branch operations within the
regulatory framework and the Bank’s policies and risk guidelines.
Main
Duties:
·
Ensure Branch profitability through
growth of loans and commissions
·
Business planning and growth
(deposits and loans) as well as customer growth and retention
·
Management of risks- ensure internal
controls, physical security of cash and ensure overall adherence to the laid
down policies at the his/her Branch
·
Implementation of the staff targets
and ensuring that the Branch targets are met
·
Staff Management- maintain staff
discipline, supervision, training, coaching and development
·
Ensure that all required branch
reconciliations are done accurately and in a timely manner
·
Ensure Good Customer Service at the
branch at all times to ensure member satisfaction and retention
·
Assist the marketing team to
identifying and forwarding customer need to aid in developing attractive
products & Services
·
Enhancing loan recoveries to ensure
low Branch PAR
·
Controls the utilization of, and
ensuring proper maintenance and custody of all assets at the branch.
·
In liaison with operations/ finance
department, ensure adequate branch liquidity and that there is enough cash at
all paying points
·
Management information reporting and
integrity
·
Profit improvement and cost
management
Minimum
qualification and experience required:
·
Undergraduate University Degree in a
related field
·
Minimum 5 years’ working experience
in a Banking environment, with demonstrated achievements in Business
development, Branch Operations, Credit Management, 3 of which should be at a
management level.
·
Proficiency in computer use including
MS Office tools and banking systems, preferably T24
·
Knowledge of Banking and Business
Operations: Well round knowledge of ALL the Bank’s operations and processes and
excellent knowledge of Bank policies and procedures
·
Risk Management: Ability to
anticipate and mitigate risk by implementing appropriate Risk Management
Policies for the Bank
·
Audit Standards and Legislations:
Good knowledge of International Accounting and Audit Standards, and
Legislations
·
Compliance and Regulatory Framework:
Top notch understanding of the regulatory issues, reporting and operational
requirement as provided by CBK, KRA, KIB, etc.
·
Conceptual and Analytical Skills:
Ability to quickly grasp and understand systems and keen to detail
·
Technology Skills: Knowledge of
computerized banking applications and spreadsheets
·
Credit Skills- Good Knowledge of
personal and business credit underwriting and portfolio management
Regional Managers
Reporting to the Chief Manager
Operations & Branches, the incumbent will responsible to provide strong
overall leadership and planning of activities/initiatives to a designated
region of branch managers designed to achieve long term business growth and
profitability as well as manage and build a sales and service culture
throughout the designated region, developing staff capability, and enabling the
achievement of increased market acceptance and Credit Bank Product penetration.
Main Duties:
·
Primarily responsible for achieving
region performance targets in:
·
Funding growth / retention – savings
a/c’s, current accounts and term deposits
·
Lending growth / retention – SME and
retail banking
·
Transactional Banking – deepening
mobile banking, debit cards, and internet banking
·
Insurance product sales
·
Fee income growth
·
Arrears and NPA management
·
Effective implementation of a high
performance sales culture for the staff in the region.
·
Primarily responsible for all loan
applications approved within the region including timely completion and
approval within quality parameters determined by Credit Bank lending policy.
·
Maintain a complete understanding of
all Credit Bank products offered via the Credit Bank distribution channels,
with knowledge sufficient to discuss product attributes fully and confidently.
Emphasis will be on engaging with clients to complete full financial analysis
with goal of widening clients’ relationship with Credit Bank.
·
Lead and support the business
development efforts of region branches by role modelling, through meeting with
local business professionals and key clients to gauge Credit Bank profile and
feedback on any issues, speaking at regional marketing functions and responding
to customer’s correspondence if necessary.
·
Identify, research, formulate and
implement approved retail opportunities in conjunction with branch managers
that are congruent with Credit bank strategic direction and contribute to
growth and profitability within the region.
·
Direct and oversee the formulation,
implementation and monitoring of approved business plans, operating plans,
budgets and capital expenditure requests in line with Credit Bank strategic
goals and objectives for branches within the region.
·
Lead local branch teams in the
execution of the approved strategy at a local tactical level.
·
Regular monitoring of performance
against strategy and recommendations of any tactical adjustments necessary.
·
Responsible for the performance
management of Direct Sales staff stationed in the region.
·
Assist branch managers in the
development, implementation, and support of branch training plans so that staff
members are able to meet and/or exceed their individual performance targets.
·
Meet with Branches regularly
including performance reviews with Managers and meeting with staff directly to
discuss their own performance and ambitions and to discuss progress and
barriers to performance success in order to manage outcomes.
·
Identify and develop talent within
the region.
Minimum qualification and experience required:
·
Undergraduate University Degree in a
related field. Masters degree will be an added advantage.
·
Minimum 7 years’ working experience
in a reputable commercial bank in Kenya, with demonstrated achievements in
Business development, Branch Operations, Credit Management, 3 of which should
be as a regional manager
·
Experience in sales strategy
formulation and implementation will be required with extensive demonstrated
sales, leadership and marketing experience.
·
Demonstrated leadership experience,
including supervision and development of staff.
·
Substantial experience of lending and
funding processes
·
Demonstrated business development,
skills and capability Preferred

Knowledge of the local region

Experience/familiarity with all
banking products development life cycle, processes, and systems
·
