The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu has outreach Health Services at Kisii, Kakamega, Kitale, Bungoma, Kericho, Kibuye-Kisumu, West End- Kisumu, Busia, Homa- Bay, Kapsabet, Migori, Bomet, with plans to spread to Narok.
With the ongoing expansion we seek to recruit a professional for the following vacant position:
ACU In Charge
Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Nursing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and maintaining high standards of professional nursing care by planning, organizing, and controlling nursing care services in the Intensive Care unit while ensuring consistent provision of efficient and ethical care to achieve quality nursing care.
Key Responsibilities
·         Lead the unit team in formulation, implementation and evaluation of annual goals and objectives in accordance with departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.
·         Lead the team in development, implementation and review of policies, procedures, protocols, and care guidelines based on international standards
·         Participate in the Budget process and ensure efficient utilization of resources
·         Ensure that all policies, procedures, equipment and supplies are in place.
·         Responsible for the recruitment, selection, orientation and on- going training of the unit staff
·         Oversee continuous education of unit staff and identify staff training needs
·         Participate in Quality and patient safety activities in the unit and hospital
Requirements
·         Bsc Nursing.
·         Diploma in Critical Care Nursing
·         BLS / ACLS certificate and other unit specific certification requirements.
·         At least five years working experience in nursing practice, with three years in ward administration in an Intensive care facility.
·         Valid Kenyan nursing practice licence.
·         Working knowledge of a Hospital Management Information System.
·         Excellent PR and Communication skills.

Medical Ward in Charge
Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Nursing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of quality care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients within the assigned unit.
He / she will plan, coordinate, manage and evaluate all patient care activities including quality, resources, regulatory compliance, staff development and finance.
Key Responsibilities
·         Lead the unit team in formulation, implementation and evaluation of annual goals and objectives in accordance with departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.

Anaesthetist Assistant
Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Theatre in charge, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting and preparing for the procedures of induction and maintenance / observation of anesthesia, by ensuring the anesthesia equipment and instruments are always ready for the procedures.
Key Responsibilities
·         Prepares anesthesia equipment and machines ready for use.
·         Assist in induction and maintenance of anesthesia
·         Clean and decontaminate anesthesia equipment and surfaces.
Requirements
·         Anaesthetist Assistant Training Certificate
·         Minimum of two years working experience
·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
·         Good organizational and time management skills.
·         Able to work efficiently under pressure
·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Medical Records Manager
Overall Responsibility: The successful candidate be responsible for ensuring completeness, integrity, confidentiality, safe storage and timely retrieval of patient medical records.
She /He will be responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing medical information and records (MI&R) policies as well as leading the medical records team in discharging essential duties of the Medical Records department.
Requirements
·         Diploma or above in Medical Records Information Technology.
·         Minimum five years working experience in a busy health care facility.
·         Excellent computer skills. Experience in working with Hospital Management Information System will be an added advantage.
·         Excellent customer service and people management skills.

Medical Records Officer
Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Medical Records Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, effective storage of patient medical records towards ensuring integrity, easy accessibility, completeness and confidentiality of patient information.
Other Responsibilities:
·         Routine data collection by performing daily collection and collation of bed bureau census as well as collection of clinic reports.
·         Coding and Indexing of diseases to enable provision of data for learning, administrative purposes and as per statutory requirements.
·         Editing of Patient files as per the patient assembly order policy.
·         Clinic preparation by retrieving files and ensuring patient records are readily available as required.
·         Participation in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, promoting service excellence & cost management.
Requirements
·         Diploma in Health records from a recognized institution.
·         Minimum two years working experience in a busy Hospital environment.
·         Excellent customer service and people management skills.
·         Excellent computer skills and ability to work with minimum supervision.
