Medical Specialist II, Internal Medicine (Haemotolgy – Oncology)

Job Purpose: The Medical Specialist II (Haematology) will be responsible to the Chief Medical Specialist / Head of Department and will be expected to take full responsibility for patients under his/her care.
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Performing clinical procedures and making decisions on patients’ management in the area of specialization.
·         Conducting regular Ward Rounds.
·         Responding to consultations from other clinical specialties.
·         Conducting specialist out-patient clinics.
·         Participating in assessment of patients as may be required by the Hospital Management.
·         Participating in research, teaching and supervising the performance of both medical and non-medical staff as well as post-graduate students.
·         Participating in preparation of annual budgets for the department.
·         Participating in Administrative activities of the department.
·         Participating in delivery of hospital strategic plan and performance contract.
Qualifications and Experience
·         Masters Degree in Medicine (Internal Medicine) from the University of Nairobi or any other recognized University.
·         Sub-specialization in Haemoto-oncology or proven interest in Haematology.
·         Evidence of research and at least two (2) professional publications in reputable local or international journals on particular scientific findings/practices in the relevant field.

Medical Specialist II – Dermatology

·         Specialist Recognition and retention Certificate from the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board of Kenya.
·         Evidence of research and at least two (2) professional publications in reputable local or international journals on particular scientific findings/practices in the relevant field.

Deputy Quality Assurance Manager

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Deputy Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for the implementation of quality assurance programmes and ensuring that quality systems are maintained in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 Standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Planning and organizing programmes to ensure delivery of quality services in the Hospital.
·         Participating in preparation of annual budget for the department and ensuring proper utilization of allocated funds.
·         Preparing reports on quality related matters and activities in the Hospital.
·         Participating in quality assurance research activities.
·         Assisting in the development, implementation plus verification effectiveness of quality systems affecting all aspects of Hospital operations.
·         Reviewing & analyzing data, in order to recognize trends as well as opportunities for improvement/corrective action, by using process capability other statistical or quality tools.
·         Effective supervision, training and development of staff.
Qualifications and Experience
·         Masters Degree in any following: Public Health; Health management; primary qualification in Medicine; Nursing; Medical Sciences or any other health related field.
·         Proven experience of at least three (3) years at the level of Assistant Manager or above in a large organization, preferably quality management.
·         At least one (1) year experience as lead Auditor of quality/environmental management systems.
·         Degree or post graduate qualification in Quality management will be an added advantage.
·         A certificate in ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditors course will be an added advantage.
·         Proficiency in Computer and statistical analysis packages.

Deputy Chief Registered Clinical Officer (Ophthalmology)

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Head of Department, Ophthalmology, the Deputy Chief Registered clinical Officer will be responsible for the management and rendering of specialized clinical services in the Hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Receiving, examining and scanning patients in the filter clinics, treating or referring them to respective specialist.
·         Undertaking/assisting in clinical work in the wards, clinics or theatres as may be directed.
·         Organizing and participating in supervising, training and counselling of staff working under him/her as well as supervising clinical students.
·         Undertaking research, teaching and conducting examinations.
Qualification and Experience
·         Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine.
·         Higher Diploma in Ophthalmology.
·         Served for at least three (3) years in the grade of Assistant Chief Clinical Officer.
·         Wide experience in the management of clinical (Ophthalmology) services.
·         Registration with Kenya Clinical Officers.

Quality Assurance Coordinator

Radiation Safety Officer II

Job Purpose: The Radiation Safety Officer II (RSO-II) will be responsible to the Chief Radiation Safety Officer in the hospital for making the hospital’s radiation facility safe, cost effective and of quality service to patients and employees.
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Carrying out radiation safety assessment within radiation facilities of the hospital and ensure are safe for patients, staff and members of the public for operations.
·         Monitoring and keeping record for hospital employees’ occupational exposure to radiation while working in radiation facilities.
·         Keeping a register for all irradiating and related QA devices for the hospital.
·         Ensuring guidelines for QA/QC tests for radiation devices and practices are available and implemented.
·         Responsible for the coordination of radiological emergencies and offering technical advices with regards to the selection, procurement and importation of radiation devices and materials.
·         Coordinating compliance to Radiation Protection Act and its subsidiary regulations and liaising between the Radiation Protection Board and the hospital.
Qualification and Experiences
·         Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics, Physical Services with bias in atomic and nuclear physics or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
·         Experience in the role of medical physicist and radiation safety in the hospital will be an added advantage.
·         Certificate in computer operations from a recognized institution.

Nursing Officer III/I

Orthopaedic Plaster Technician III

Job Purpose: The Orthopaedic plaster Technician III will be responsible to Senior Orthopaedic Technician for provision of care to patients with orthopaedic conditions
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Manipulating and reducing fractures and dislocations.
·         Fixing and removing casts, bandages to and from patients.
·         Correcting Congenital Talipes Equino – Varus (C.T.E.V).
·         Participating in the management of minor orthopaedic and trauma cases in emergencies and accidents.
·         Sensitizing and creating awareness on orthopaedic and trauma conditions to the communities.
·         Protecting patients and support staff by adhering to Infection Control Protocols.
·         Counselling patients/clients on issues regarding orthopaedic trauma.
·         Ensuring compliance with the set standard operating procedures.
·         Ensuring compliance with OSHE Act and KNH safety policy.
Qualifications and Experience
·         Certificate in Orthopaedic Plaster and Traction Technology or Orthopaedic Plaster Technology from a recognized institution.
·         At least two (2) years working experience in an NHIF accredited facility.
·         Registration with a professional body.
·         Certificate in computer operations from a recognized institution.
