Opportunities
Pursuant to the County Government Act
2012, Section 57, the Governor’s office, Mombasa County wishes to announce the
following positions of the County Public Service Board:
i. Chairperson
ii. Five (5) Board
Members
Overall Duties
and Responsibilities
·
Establish and abolish offices in the
County Public Service.
·
Appoint persons to hold or act in
office of Public County Offices including in the Boards of Urban areas within
the County and to confirm appointments.
·
Exercise disciplinary control over
and remove persons holding or acting in those offices as provided for under
this part.
·
Prepare regular reports for
admissions to the County Assembly on the execution of the functions of the
Board.
·
Promote in the County Public Service
the values and principles referred to in articles 10 and 232 of the
Constitution of Kenya 2010.
·
Evaluate and report to the County
Assembly on the extent to which the values and principles referred to in
articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 are complied with in the
County Public Service.
·
Facilitate the development of
coherent, integrated Human Resource Planning and Budgeting for personnel
emolument in the County.
·
Advice the County Government on Human
Resource Management and development.
·
Advice the County Government on
implementation and monitoring of the National Performance Management System in
the County.
·
Make recommendations to the salaries
and remunerations Commission on behalf of the County Government, on the
remuneration, pensions and gratuities for County Public Service employees.

Additional
Duties and Responsibilities
The chairperson will be in-charge of
Mombasa County Public Service Board.
Other specific duties and
responsibilities will be to:
a) Provide strategic leadership and
policy direction for the Board;
b) Maintain effective collaboration
and partnership with other organs of National and County Government amongst
other duties.
Qualification
and Requirements
For appointment to this position the
candidate must:

Be a Kenyan Citizen.
·
Be a holder of a first degree from a
University recognized in Kenya. (A Master’s degree will be added advantage)
·
Satisfy the requirements of Article 6
of the constitution of Kenya 2010 on leadership and Integrity.
·
Have knowledge and a working
experience of not less than ten (10) years in Administration and Management.
·
Be a professional who demonstrates
absence of breach of the relevant professional code of conduct.
·
Understand the diversity within the
County.
·
Be capable to work under pressure to
meet strict deadlines.
·
Be a visionary and Strategic thinker.
·
Be committed to be part of a team
that will enable the County Government achieve her vision.

County Public Service Board

Qualification
and Requirements
For appointment to this position the
candidate must:
·
Be a Kenyan Citizen.
·
Be a holder of a first degree from a
University recognized in Kenya. (A Master’s degree will be added advantage)
·
Satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6
of the constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity.
·
Have knowledge and a working
experience of not less than five (5) years in administration and Management.
·
Be a professional who demonstrates
absence of breach of the relevant professional code of conduct.
·
Understand the diversity within the
County.
·
Be capable to work under pressure to
meet strict deadlines.
·
Be a visionary and Strategic thinker.
·
Be committed to be part of a team
that will enable the County Government achieve her vision.
