Training & Conferences Officer

Mombasa Branch
Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) was established in 1954 as a premier institute that provides management consultancy and capacity building services to corporate organizations and other institutions. The institute has embarked on an aggressive expansion and growth programme in line with its strategic plan 2017 – 2021. To deliver this mandate, KIM seeks to fill the position of Officer, Training & Conferences.
The Officer Training and Conferences will be responsible for marketing and coordination of the Training and Conferences in the assigned region. The jobholder will be responsible for sourcing training business and timely response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs)/Quotations in line with the institute’s objectives.


Responsibilities

·         Identification of Training needs for individuals and organizations & propose training programmes based on the needs established.
·         Develop/design, market and coordinate Training programmes.
·         Co-ordinate pre, during and post training activities in the assigned region – venues, materials and resource requirements to ensure training programmes are conducted professionally to customer satisfaction
·         Prepare, present and follow up proposals upon studying requests for proposal (RFPs).
·         Develop and maintain client relationships with emphasis on high value/high potential clients – key accounts.
·         Responsible for sourcing of training venues, in liaison with the procurement department.
·         Ensure collections are up-to-date for proper debt management
·         Champion any other institute related projects in the assigned region
·         Prepare regular progress reports on training & conferences as required by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements

·         Bachelors’ degree in Marketing or Business related
·         Minimum 3 years’ experience in corporate training in a busy organization

Branch Manager Job (Large Branch & Small Branch)
Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) was established in 1954 as a premier institute that provides management consultancy and capacity building services to corporate organizations and other institutions. The institute has embarked on an aggressive expansion and growth programme in line with its strategic plan 2017 – 2021. To deliver this mandate, KIM seeks to fill the position of Branch Manager in both Large Branch and Small Branch.
This position will be responsible for provision of leadership and general administration of the respective branch to ensure achievement of financial targets and successful promotion and delivery of Institute’s service offerings.

Responsibilities

·         Provide leadership through management of the staff and resources at the branch to ensure efficient and effective service provision at the branch level
·         Develop and implement strategic plan for the branch in line with KIM’S strategic plan and prepare the annual plan for the branch.
·         Lead in the delivery of KIMSOM products, membership and business solution services at the branch.
·         Responsible for quality assurance of services in the branch through ensuring that all branch operations are within the provided and approved procedures, rules and regulations and standard
·         Constantly monitor costs at the branch through to ensure cost efficiency.
·         Market the school and membership through corporate visits, exhibition, school visits and one on one interaction to be able to reach out to the target market
·         Prepare reports such as financial reports, academic reports and administration reports to inform management on the progress plans and challenges of the branch
·         Represent the branch in executive committee meetings and communicate to the branch staff on decisions made.
·         Supervise and allocate work to the branch staff to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of work.
·         Overall in charge of the branch performance and reports to management
·         Responsible for the branch budget through preparation of the annual budget, generation of revenue through selling branch services and approves petty cash expenditure
·         Responsible for overseeing student recruitment for registration for all courses offered at the branch

Requirements

·         Must have at least five years’ experience in a large organisation in an active commercial environment
·         Must have a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field from a recognised institution
·         A Master: degree will be an added advantage

Consultancy Officer
Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) was established in 1954 as a premier institute that provides management consultancy and capacity building services to corporate organizations and other institutions. The institute has embarked on an aggressive expansion and growth programme in line with its strategic plan 2017 – 2021. To deliver this mandate, KIM seeks to fill the position of Consultancy Officer.

Reporting to the Head of Business Solutions Centre. The jobholder will be responsible for sourcing of consultancy related business and ensuring timely / professional delivery of consultancy services to KIM clients in order to exceed the customer expectations and meet the institute objectives.

Responsibilities           

·         Develop consultancy business for the institute in line with the departmental objectives
·         Prepare, present and follow up on expressions of interest (EOIs, RFPs and RFQs) and general proposals to facilitate consultancy revenue generation in Business Solutions Centre.
·         Actively mine consultancy opportunities from existing and potential KIM clients/Members with a view to relationship building and meeting the Institute’s objectives
·         Develop an up-to-date consultancy client database and with aggressive marketing, have a pipeline of expected business for sales forecasting.
·         Management of quality of consultancy and deliverables for client services to ensure client satisfaction.
·         Effective management of consultants used in delivering the consultancy assignments to ensure quality not compromised and professionalism adhered to throughout all interactions with client and the institute.
·         Ensuring consultancy contracts are well negotiated so that they are cost effective and make business sense for the institute
·         Liaise with the finance department to do timely invoicing of clients and ensure collection is up-to-date for smooth running of the projects and institute operations.
·         Prepare regular Consultancy Sectional progress reports for ease of monitoring and evaluation in line with the Institute’s strategic objectives.
·         Ensure that Consultants engaged in the projects, with approval by Head of Business Solutions Centre, are qualified to deliver the assignments and their performance monitored regularly
·         Develop a clear consultancy marketing plan strategy for the department and champion its implementation
·         Nurture beneficial partnerships and collaborations to exchange and enhance programs and services offered.
·         Custodian of project and Consultancy reports and database for future reference.
·         Liaise with Head of Business Solutions Centre and Head of Shared Services in recruiting competent consultants to carry out consultancy assignments.

Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in either Project Management, Marketing or Business Administration
·         Minimum work experience of 3 years’ in corporate training and consultancy
Other Skills/Competencies
·         Proficiency in computer use including MS Office tools
·         Proposal writing, fund raising and business development experience

Regional Branch Manager
Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) was established in 1954 as a premier institute that provides management consultancy and capacity building services to corporate organizations and other institutions.
The institute has embarked on an aggressive expansion and growth programme in line with its strategic plan 2017 – 2021. To deliver this mandate, KIM seeks to fill the position of Regional Branch Manager.
This position will be responsible for management of the operations of Branches within the region assigned. This will involve business development activities aimed at promoting membership services, conferencing, training, consultancy and KIM School of Management products.
The role will further be responsible for planning, budgeting, coordinating and monitoring activities of Branches within the assigned region to grow revenue and support quality improvement initiatives for the Institute’s service offerings.
