School Success Manager
Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar Post School Success Manager who will launch our students on a journey toward a fulfilling career and life of impact. The Post School Success Manager will join our leadership team and will drive the development of a distinctive university and career guidance program that is integrated into everyday learning at Nova Pioneer.
About the Role
The Post School Success Manager is an essential role that will help drive one of our most important goals over the next 3 years – setting our students up for success on their path to becoming leaders and innovators for the African century. In this role, you will lay a strong foundation for career and university guidance that is embedded into the everyday learning and support at Nova Pioneer. You will be a thought leader, driving our vision to help students discover their interests, passions and strengths and match those to post-school opportunities, whether that be university, a gap year experience or a work experience. You will begin by developing partnerships with local and international universities, tertiary institutions and programs and will prepare our current grade Form 3’s to begin preparing for when they graduate in 2019. You will work with our Nova Pioneer school-based teams to establish strong coaching systems that will guide our students as they make important decisions about their futures. As we scale, you will grow exceptional teams to provide support across our many campuses across the continent.

Roles and responsibilities

·         Develop partnerships with a diverse range of local and international universities and other post-school opportunities for our students.
·         Represent Nova Pioneer and the Kenya secondary school(s) at meetings, conferences, or other networking events as needed.
·         Oversee provision of SAT standardized test prep
·         Write and/or edit effective letters of recommendation for university applicants
·         Deliver relevant on-campus trainings for secondary school students as well as teachers and parents supporting students’ engagement
·         Design and build coaching systems and processes that will provide deep, ongoing mentorship and guidance to students that will help them to uncover their passions, interests and strengths.
·         Guide students in selecting a post-school path that matches their strengths and interests and help them to identify opportunities to optimise their potential for entrance into programs they are excited about.
·         Help students to identify relevant financial assistance options that will ensure they can pursue their goals.
·         Support students as they navigate the university application process so that they can put their best foot forward.
·         Provide coaching and build rapport with students’ parents so that they are able to join their children in their journey toward preparing for life after graduation.

Qualifications

·         At least a Bachelor’s degree. Qualifications related to psychology and counseling are a plus.
·         You have 2+ years of experience in directly advising Kenyan students on how to apply to universities both in Kenya and internationally. Relevant experience working with teens in either a secondary school setting or in an organization that supports teen-aged students with academic development and/or university.
·         You love working with young people and you know what makes them tick. You find joy in helping them to uncover their dreams for their future.
·         You are a strong communicator and are able to build rapport and confidence with students’ families as well as partner institutions.
·         You have a vision for the journey that our students will go on to reach their goals and are able to inspire others to take up that vision and run with it.
·         You are a strategic thinker and a thought leader but you are also able to translate your ideas into action and execute on them.
·         You have strong project management skills. You are able to juggle multiple tasks, provide support to junior level staff and meet deadlines and targets.
·         You are a problem solver – you are proactive in identifying issues and address these thoroughly by making effort to find appropriate solutions.

External Relations Associate
Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar External Relations Associate to lead the design and implementation of partnerships efforts across our school network in Kenya. This is an opportunity to create a transformative brand with the future of Africa’s youth at stake.

Roles

You will be mainly responsible for telling the Nova Pioneer story to various stakeholders, creating awareness and representing the  Nova Pioneer in the community. The role is based in Kenya.
You will also:
·         Be responsible for understanding the customer mix, segmenting them, designing and executing an effective engagement strategy based on this analysis.
·         Be responsible for developing a new lead generation strategy by understanding how and where to connect with partner organizations, and creatively designing engagements that optimize our effectiveness.
·         Organize and execute  Nova Pioneer’s external events that creatively encourage increased engagement with Heads of Schools, teachers and corporates among others.
·         Constantly seek new outreach opportunities for Nova Pioneer to connect with different (but relevant) audiences to raise the profile of our brand in Kenya.

Qualifications

Facilities Supervisor 
Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar Facilities Supervisor for our Tatu City Campuses. The  Facilities Supervisor will identify and address safety risks on the different Campus grounds. This is an opportunity to be a part of an innovative network of schools that is developing generations of innovators and leaders who shape the African Century.

Key responsibilities

·         Being the go-to-person on the team when it comes to campus cleanliness, maintenance & repairs, facilities management, security and utilities.
·         Responsible for the operation, supervision and maintenance of building systems to provide continuous supply of water, electrical power, and other utilities required for operations.
·         Inspect the building and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions in need of repair.
·         Prepare a schedule for maintenance matters with the operations team and agree when work will be carried out.
·         Perform routine building maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
·         Minimize maintenance disruptions to the running of the school.
·         Adequately respond to maintenance requests.
·         Ensure that all building management equipment has an appropriate policy and standard level.
·         Respond adequately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.

Roles

You will also:
·         Ensure compliance with the standard procurement policy for all purchasing transactions
·         Data Entry of key procurement data  on the database
·         Maintaining an updated register of vendors.
·         Help generate PO’s and dispatch to vendors.
·         Receiving deliveries from vendors as per the purchase orders through liaison with the school operations administrators
·         Ensuring all invoices from vendors are received and prepared for payment in line with the Nova Pioneer payment schedules

Deputy Principal
Nova Pioneer is looking for an outstanding educator to serve as a Deputy Principal at Nova Pioneer Boys High School in Tatu City. This is an opportunity to help create a transformative school model with the future of Africa’s youth at stake.
About The Role
We are looking for an exceptional individual to be part of our instructional leadership team at Nova Pioneer Boys High School at Tatu City. As Deputy Principal, you will play a critical role in realizing this aspiration by leading teacher coaching and development at Nova Pioneer Boys and co-leading on school culture together with the Principal.
You will help the Principal establish an extremely strong and vibrant school culture consistent with Nova Pioneer’s core culture principles. However, your primary focus is teacher development. Drawing on support from instructional leaders on Nova Pioneer’s network team, you will create a professional development “machine” inside the school: deliberate practice routines and management habits that stretch teachers professionally and give them higher quality, more intensive coaching than they can get anywhere else. You will build a pipeline of homegrown local teacher talent inside the school that produces master teachers and great instructional leaders over time.

Key responsibilities

·         Work with the Principal to articulate a compelling short- and long-term vision for the development of the school’s culture and program

Primary School Nurse 
Nova Pioneer is looking for superstar Primary School Nurse to help us ensure the well being, academic success, lifelong achievement, and overall health of our Primary school students. Key responsibilities

·         Managing our students’ wellness and development and offering them psycho-social support as needed.
·         Maintaining close liaison with the Medical staff at the nearest Private Hospital consistently
·         Handle confidential situations, information and documentation.
·         Communicate effectively at all levels with students, staff, parents and other clinicians and paramedics
·         Inspecting boarding house facilities (toilets and bathrooms, laundry area) when pupils are away from the facilities and appraise the level of hygiene and cleanliness.
·         Monitoring standards achieved by cleaners and other support agencies within the Boarding House and report on any deficiencies to the Director, Operations.

Qualifications

·         A professional, flexible and conscientious registered nurse with the ability to build a harmonious, energetic and cohesive relationship with students and co-workers.
·         Prior experience working as a pediatric nurse
·         Professional counseling skills with a proven track record will be an advantage.
·         You are willing to work as a locum nurse in our secondary school.
