The hospital seeks to recruit ideal candidates for the following positions:-


ICU Clinical Nurse
To promote high professional standards of nursing care which meet the needs of critically ill patients

Qualifications

·         Diploma in Community health Nursing (KRCHN)
·         Higher Diploma in Critical care Nursing will be an added advantage
·         At least two years of experience in critical care nursing
·         Certification in BLS or ACLS will be an added advantage

Theatre Clinical Nurse
Responsible for promoting and maintaining high standards of professional nursing care by providing quality services with special focus on operations and surgeries to meet the needs of patients.

Qualifications

·         Diploma in Community health Nursing (KRCHN)
·         Higher Diploma in Perioperative Nursing will be an added advantage
·         At least two years of experience in perioperative nursing
·         Certification in BLS or ACLS will be an added advantage


Resident Oncologist
Overall Responsibility
Reporting to the Head of Department the successful candidate will be responsible for efficient delivery of oncology services to patients. He/she will be expected to be an active member of the multidisciplinary health care team and contribute to the continuing professional development programs in the Hospital.

Responsibilities

·         Planning oncology and palliative care services through review of patients in the wards and clinic
·         Be part of the team that cares for cancer patients
·         Teaching and mentoring of junior doctors and other colleagues

Requirements

·         Master’s Degree of Medicine in Medical Oncology from a recognized institution
·         Must be Registered/Licensed by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
·         Minimum 2 years work experience as an oncologist
·         Specialist Recognition as an oncologist desirable
Skills and Competencies
·         Good communication skills.

·         Be flexible and result oriented.
·         Be ardent scientist with good clinical judgement
·         Be in good standing with the Medical Board


Sonographer
Reporting to the Radiology Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, efficient, high quality diagnostic imaging services through the use of modern imaging technology that includes computerized X-ray machine and multi probe ultrasound unit.

Responsibilities

·         To undertake initial patient evaluation, provide diagnostic radiographs, perform ultrasound and Doppler examinations by capturing images of diagnostic value.
·         Ensure radiation safety measures and protection are observed to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety to patient’s staff and self.
·         Ensure scheduled maintenance, and calibration of medical equipment’s are in place and followed.
·         Ensure accurate documentation and care of patients’ records.

Qualifications

·         Higher Diploma in Ultrasound
·         Two (2) years working experience in similar position
·         Registered and licensed by The Kenya Radiation Protection Board
·         A member of Society of radiographers in Kenya (SORK).
·         High level of confidentiality and discretion.
·         Good communication skills.


ACU Nurse
Overall Responsibility
Reporting to the ACU In charge, the successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and maintaining high standards of professional nursing care by providing quality nursing services to meet the needs of critically ill patients and their families.

Responsibilities

·         Demonstrate clinical practice competence in nursing management of critically ill patients and those undergoing hemodialysis
·         Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives in the unit and in other departments.
·         Ensures intra and interdepartmental collaboration
·         Provide safe environment for patients through adherence to infection control practices and other safety policies, and perform timely safety checks.
·         Implement safe custody and correct administration of drugs.
·         Participate actively in CNE / CME / Audits.

Requirements

·         BSc Nursing
·         KRCHN/KRN
·         Critical Care Nursing Certification.
·         Basic Life Support (BLS)
·         Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
·         Valid Kenyan Nursing practice license.
·         Previous experience in Critical Care
·         Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
·         Demonstrate Critical thinking and Analytical skills
