Job Vacancy: Accounts Assistant

Job Scope: Accounts payables, Reconciliations and stores management.
Responsibilities:
·         Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
·         Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
·         Tax/levies, statutory deductions calculations, filing and payment, and regulators compliance checks

·         Assisting in Payroll processing
·         Petty cash payments and reconciliations
·         Process cheque requests
·         Audit and process bills and all company obligations and maintain accurate ledgers
·         Respond to all creditors/suppliers inquiries

·         Reconcile creditors/suppliers statements, research and correct discrepancies
·         Preparation of timely payments reports and advising accordingly
·         Assist in month end closing and the budgetary process
·         Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
·         Inventory/stores management
·         Assist with other tasks as needed
Qualifications:
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Business related subject (Added advantage)
·         CPA Part 2 and above
·         2+ years of Accounts Payable experience
·         Practical Knowledge of VAT, Corporate and Income taxes accounting
·         Knowledge of an accounting software e.g. QuickBooks
Competencies:
·         Attention to detail: Should pay attention to every penny going out, and make sure everything is in order.
·         Computer Skills: Much of the job will be done on computers, inputting spreadsheets, tax documents and reports. Good computer skills will be necessary.
·         Math Skills: Comfortable with basic math skills.
·         Analytical Skills: Ability to look at complex numbers and find disparities and cost-saving areas.
·         Communication Skills: Good listening and communication skills when working with clients, listening to issues, and dealing with the government at tax time.
·         Organizational Skills: Should always know where every document and client status is.
