The DQA will be implemented on one
side, at an IP’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) unit and intermediate
reporting levels using a routine data quality assessment tool, and, on another
side at the field level (beneficiary households) using a Community Trace and
Verify tool. APHRC will work in close coordination with Palladium team to
implement the DQA.

The African Population and Health
Research Center (APHRC) invites applications for field interviewers for the
2018 Data Quality Assessment (DQA) of the USAID-funded Orphans and Vulnerable
Children (OVC) projects in Kenya. The aim of the DQA is to assess the ability
of the Implementing Partners (IPs) to collect and report quality data as well
as inform on IPs reporting performance and systems.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Applicants should meet the following
requirements.
1. Should have completed at least
secondary education with a minimum of grade C+ (Plus) in KCSE.
2. Be familiar with and proficient in
computer applications including use of MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
3. Have proven experience in
conducting household surveys.
4. Knowledgeable in both quantitative
and/or qualitative data collection.
5. Has an appreciation for quality
data in a survey context.
6. Experience in electronic data
collection.
7. Be a current resident of /
originates from any of the following counties: Bungoma, Busia, Homa Bay,
Kilifi, Kajiado, Laikipia, Meru, Mombasa, Nakuru and Uasin Gishu.
8. Be fluent in English, Kiswahili
and any other local language mostly spoken in any of the project counties.
9. Possess strong people skills –
listening, communication, and ability to resolve problems while relating well
with colleagues and study community.
10. Post-secondary school education
will be an added advantage.
11. Must be fully available for
training and during the entire data quality assessment period (July/August,
2018).
Job
Description (responsibilities):
1. Conducting desk review of
secondary data previously collected for and maintained by the various OVC Projects
and Local Implementing Partners (LIPs).
2. Identifying study participants as
defined in the study.
3. Consenting study participants.
4. Conducting face-to-face interviews
with participants sampled for the study.
5. Complete, edit and submit all assigned
interviews for cross-checking and verification by the Supervisor;
6. Documenting any data
inconsistencies detected from the secondary data as well as from the
verification interviews.
7. Reviewing all completed data
quality assessment interviews for completeness and internal consistency.
8. Electronically transmitting all
complete and approved quality assessment interviews
9. Ensuring that all sampled study
participants assigned to him/her are fully accounted for as at close of data
collection.
10. Reporting all project related
issues to the Supervisor for quick and effective troubleshooting.
11. Ensuring safety of survey tools
and equipment as may be assigned.
