Front Office Internship

National Environment Trust Fund (NETFUND) is a state corporation under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. NETFUND was established within the provision of the Environment Management and Coordination Act [EMCA] [Section 24] of 1999. NETFUND`s mission is to mobilize, manage and avail resources for environmental awards, capacity building, research and publications, scholarships and grants in Kenya. NETFUND invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Front Office Intern.
Overall Purpose
Responsible to the Administration Officer, the intern will work with the team to assist NETFUND accomplish its strategic objectives by providing support services with regard to switchboard operations, receiving of visitors and maintenance of records.

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

·         Assist in operation of the telephone switchboard by directing calls to relevant recipients.
·         Assist in receiving of letters and other documents and dispatching them to relevant offices.
·         Assist in dispatch of letters and documents to appropriate offices.
·         Assist in receiving of visitors in the office.
·         Assist in ensuring the reception area remains clean and tidy.
·         Assist in filing of documents and maintaining a filing system.

Minimum Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or related fields;
·         1 years’ working experience in front office/ customer service.
·         Willingness to learn and keen on personal development
Key Competencies
·         Basic switchboard operating experience.
·         Effective time management skills and prioritization.
·         Computer and basic trouble shooting skills.
·         Good communication and interpersonal skills.


Finance Internship
National Environment Trust Fund (NETFUND) is a state corporation under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. NETFUND was established within the provision of the Environment Management and Coordination Act [EMCA] [Section 24] of 1999. NETFUND`s mission is to mobilize, manage and avail resources for environmental awards, capacity building, research and publications, scholarships and grants in Kenya. NETFUND invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Finance Intern two (2).
Overall Purpose
Responsible to the Assistant Accountant, the Interns will work with the team to assist NETFUND accomplish its strategic objectives by providing support services with regard to petty cash, banking and payment processing.

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

·         Assist in dispatching cheques to suppliers.
·         Assist in preparation of regular financial reports.
·         Assist in managing petty cash, ensuring there is enough float always.
·         Assist in the updating and maintenance of the fixed asset register.
·         Assist in processing of imprest surrenders and reimbursement claims.
·         Assist in filing of returns online; monthly and annually.
·         Assist in maintenance of the books of accounts
·         Remit statutory deductions to specific beneficiaries e.g. NSSF, NHIF.

Minimum Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, finance or equivalent qualifications;
·         Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA/ACCA and membership to a relevant professional body.
·         1 years’ working experience, preferably in finance.
·         Willingness to learn and keen on personal development.

·         Strong critical and analytical skills and attention to details
·         Strong numerical and interpersonal skills
·         Computer skills (MS Office Suite, DOS, Accounting packages)
·         Should be an active member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.

Project Assistant
National Environment Trust Fund (NETFUND) is a state corporation under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. NETFUND was established within the provision of the Environment Management and Coordination Act [EMCA] [Section 24] of 1999. NETFUND`s mission is to mobilize, manage and avail resources for environmental awards, capacity building, research and publications, scholarships and grants in Kenya. NETFUND invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Project Assistant two (2).
Overall Purpose
Responsible to the Projects Manager, the assistants will work with the team to assist NETFUND accomplish its strategic objectives by providing support services with regard to implementation of projects and monitoring projects in line with the NETFUND project cycle manual and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework and policy.

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

·         Participate in development of M & E tools for measurement of project progress.
·         Conduct baseline surveys for NETFUND projects.
·         Participate in data collection, analysis and validation of NETFUND projects for impact reporting.
·         Assist in project design and implementation.
·         Participate in development of project monitoring plans in line with project Logical Framework Approach (LFAs).
·         Participate in development of reports as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related fields;
·         2 years’ working experience in project implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
·         Willingness to learn and keen on personal development.
Key Competencies
·         Strong research and analytical skills
·         Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation techniques and processes
·         Computer skills (MS Project, Excel, Statistical packages)
·         Good interpersonal skills.
·         Proven report writing skills.

Executive Office Internship

NETFUND was established within the provision of the Environment Management and Coordination Act [EMCA] [Section 24] of 1999. NETFUND`s mission is to mobilize, manage and avail resources for environmental awards, capacity building, research and publications, scholarships and grants in Kenya. NETFUND invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Executive Office Intern.
Overall Purpose
Responsible to the Executive Assistant, the intern will work with the team to assist NETFUND accomplish its strategic objectives by providing support services with regard to preparation of correspondence, scheduling of appoints and document retrieval.

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

·         Assist in coordination of activities in the CEOs office.
·         Assist in review of routine correspondence and proof reading of reports, letters and memos.
·         Assist the Executive assistant in maintenance of the CEOs calendar to ensure overlapping of appointments.
·         Assist in receiving and screening of visitors in the CEOs office.
·         Assist in the provision of hospitality in the CEOs office.
·         Assist in the coordination of domestic and international travel for the BOT and CEO.

Minimum Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications or related fields;
·         1 years’ working experience in an executive office or an office handling confidential material.
·         Willingness to learn and keen on personal development.
