oriented persons to fill the following positions its establishment
Security Officers
Security Officers
HR/SO/003/2018
Scope: Reporting to the Security Officer, the person shall be
responsible for all security operations in the Farm.
Qualification and Key Competencies:
·
5 years minimum working experience in
Security Service
·
Atleast ‘O’ level with a D+ minimum.
·
Should have worked in the Disciplined
Forces and have ability to carry out investigations.
·
Should possess updated certificate of
good conduct with no criminal offence.
·
Ability to write and compile reports
on investigations and findings.
·
Should be a person of unquestionable
integrity.
Key result areas:
·
Coordinating security matters in the
Farm.
·
Ensure that all the assets and
property of the organization are safeguarded against destruction, misuse and
loss.
·
Making periodic reports and
recommendations to the Management on matters of security in the region.
·
Developing and implementing proactive
security strategies to cope with the dynamic security risks.
·
Liaising with administrative police
to apprehend suspects in case of criminal offences within our farms

Research Officer –
Lab (Tissue Culture)
HR/RO/002/2018
Scope: Reporting to the Senior Research Officer.
The person shall be responsible for
running the day to day operations of the tissue culture laboratory.
Qualification
and Key Competencies:
·
Age 28-35
·
Bsc Degree in Horticulture or
Biotechnology.
·
Computer literacy in basic research
tools and general knowledge in MS Office packages.
·
Minimum of three (3 ) years hands-on
work experience in a research organization.
·
Good analytical and report writing
skills.
·
Conversant in Crop improvement using
biotechnology tools.
Key result
areas:
·
Produce healthy viable invitro plants
under tissue culture
·
Ensure smooth and continuous
operation of the laboratory aeroponics and virus control system.
·
Ensure a clean hygienic work
environment
·
Timely reporting on set targets of
production.
·
Virus indexing as may be required.
·
Ensure timely herding and dispatch of
invitros to the greenhouse.

Research Officer
(Breeding)
HR/RO/001/2018
Scope: Reporting to the Senior Research Officer, the person shall
be responsible for establishing field trials, analyse and interpret research
data.
The person shall also spearhead all
research assignments in the Region.
Qualification
and Key Competencies:
·
Age 30 – 40 years
·
Bsc Degree in any of the following:
Agriculture/Crop Science/Biotechnology/Seed Science Technology.
·
Msc in Agronomy or Plant breeding is
an added advantage.
·
Should have a minimum of 5 years
hands-on work experience in research environment.
·
Good analytical and report writing
skills.
·
Proficiency in Breeding techniques as
PCR.
·
Conversant with statistical package
Genstat, SAS.
·
Certificate in Modern Biotechnology
tools (added advantage)
Key result
areas:
·
Establishing field trials, analyse
and interpret research data.
·
Liaising with relevant stakeholders
in Plant breeding.
·
Advise the management on weed, pest
and disease control and suitability of soils.
·
Developing and registering new plant
varieties (potatoes).
·
Strategically establish plant
breeding, potato programe to ensure that high quality planting materials are
available in sufficient quantities at all times.
·
Managing patent process for new
introductions.
·
Carry out periodic pest and disease
surveillance in liaison with the relevant institutions and give recommendations
on control measures.
·
Analyse the production yield data and
advise management appropriately.
·
Field Monitoring and advise farms on
good agricultural practices.
·
Co-ordinate with research
institutions on matters of research findings and translating the findings into
actionable programmes.
