Internal Auditor

VICE-CHANCELLOR’S OFFICE
Grade MNT8 (1 Position),

Role Requirements

The applicants for the position MUST possess the following qualifications and experience:
·         Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: – Commerce (Accounting or Finance option); Business Administration (Accounting or Finance option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; OR
·         Part III of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or Part III of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
·         Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.

Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grades for this cadre. Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:-
·         Gathering, collating and analyzing financial data and reports to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of funds utilization;
·         Assessing compliance with regulations and guidelines in the University;
·         Carrying out audit checks and verification of payments;
·         Undertaking spot-checks;
·         Undertaking special audit investigations;
·         Interpreting financial audit policies for sound auditing principles/ practices;
·         Providing input in the implementation audit fieldwork strategy;
·         Providing input in the implementation annual audit work plans; and
·         Conducting post audit reviews.
·         To perform such other duties as shall be assigned or delegated from time to time.
Terms And Conditions:
The appointment will be for a contractual period of three (3) years renewable subject to satisfactory performance and delivery of set performance targets and outcomes. The successful candidate will be offered competitive remuneration package which includes among others, basic salary, medical cover, house, transport and leave allowances.


Registrar Administration

Role Qualifications

The applicants for the position MUST possess the following qualifications and experience:
·         PhD degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or Human Resource Management or equivalent from an institution recognized in Kenya.
·         At least five (5) years administrative experience, three (3) of which should be at the level of Deputy Registrar Administration Grade NT14 or its equivalent.
·         CPS (K) or equivalent professional qualification.
·         Have outstanding professional competence in administration or Management.
·         Member of a recognized professional administration or management body
·         Computer Literacy
·         Masters Degree in either Public Administration or Business Administration or Human Resource Management or Social Science or Equivalent from an institution recognized in Kenya.
·         CPS (K) or equivalent professional qualification.
·         At least ten (10) years administration experience, three (3) of which should be at the level of Deputy Registrar Administration Grade NT14 level or its equivalent.
·         Have outstanding professional competence in Administration and Management.
·         Member of a recognized professional administration or management body.
·         Computer Literacy

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Administration, Finance and Planning for the supervision and management of all administrative and operational functions as hereunder:
·         To coordinate the functions of the heads of administrative sections in the department
·         Coordination of the formulation and implementation of policies for the administration division.
·         Coordination of staff performance appraisal
·         Coordination and preparation of annual departmental budgets and procurement plans.

·         Conduct and Discipline of Administrative Staff.
·         Staff Performance Appraisals vii. Industrial Relations Officer
·         Development and Enforcement of the policies
·         To perform such other duties as shall be assigned or delegated from time to time.


Corporation Secretary

Corporation Secretary Grade MNT 14 (1 Position) – Ref: MMU/EA/01/01/2018 – (Re-Advertisement)
Applicants for the position of Corporation Secretary – Grade NT 14 MUST be holders of the following qualifications, relevant work experience as indicated below:-

Requirements for Appointment

·         Served in the grade of Senior Legal Officer or in a comparable and relevant position for a minimum period of three (3) years;
·         Bachelors degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution;
·         Masters degree in Law (LLM) from a recognized institution;
·         A valid Practicing Certificate from Law Society of Kenya; (v) CPS (K)
·         Be registered member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries.
·         Been an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
·         Postgraduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law;
·         Certificate in Computer Applications skills from a recognized institution; and
·         Demonstrated outstanding professional competence in legal work as reflected in work performance and results.

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Ensuring compliance with Statutes, regulations and procedures;
·         Advising the Vice Chancellor and Council on legal obligations;
·         Drafting, reviewing and approving agreements, grant awards and contracts;
·         Overseeing management of land assets and Intellectual Property;
·         Keeping Custody of legal and Council documents;
·         Overseeing preparation of Council and legal reports;
·         Overseeing review legal policies and practices;
·         Identifying, mitigating legal risks and developing remedial plans;
·         Representing the University in litigation and developing case strategy;
·         Ensuring Council resolutions, internal policies and procedures comply with legal provisions;
·         Reviewing progress of outstanding litigation;
·         Preparing Council notice, agenda and minutes;
·         Attending Council meetings;
·         Preparing Council work plans; and
·         Performing any other legal duties as may be required from time to time by the University
