Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance of the Director General and the direct supervision of the Protocol and Liaison Officer, the Protocol and Liaison Assistant main responsibilities will be to:

Under the overall guidance of the Director General and the direct supervision of the Protocol and Liaison Officer, the Protocol and Liaison Assistant main responsibilities will be to:

Assist in monitoring the
implementation of the Host Country Agreement as well as the immunities,
privileges and exemptions extended to the Regional Office and its staff;
·
Assist in liaising with the Host
Country authorities;
·
Prepare, dispatch and follow up
on residence permits, diplomatic cards, motor vehicle registration and Tax
exemptions for the Bank and its staff;
·
Assist in conducting airport
arrival and departure formalities for senior Bank staff and all other
personalities invited by the Regional Office;
·
Update inventories of
applications for franchises/concessions, residence permits, etc. and inform the
Regional Director of the status;
·
Maintain the Bank’s flag,
emblems and pennants in good condition;
·
Produce monthly activity report
on the Protocol portfolio;
·
Assist in the drafting of
outgoing correspondences, diplomatic and circular notes; maintains the log of
outgoing diplomatic/circular note numbers and keep records of these notes.

Perform any other tasks as may
be assigned.
Selection Criteria (including
skills, knowledge and experience required)
·
A minimum of an undergraduate
university degree in Public International Law, International Relations,
Political Science, Diplomacy or a similar or other related discipline.
·
Qualifications, studies and
training in diplomacy and protocol practices would be an advantage.
·
A minimum of three (3) years of
progressive relevant professional experience holding a holding a diplomatic
position or a similar position in a multilateral development bank, Government
or an international organization;
·
Experience in protocol practices
of Governments, National or Public Administrations, Ministries of Foreign
Affairs, Embassies or international organizations.
·
A good knowledge of diplomatic
norms and Practices;
·
Proven ability to work
effectively in a team-oriented, multicultural environment and to function
effectively as a member of various groups.
·
Strong interpersonal skills, a
keen sense of initiative, rigorous and methodical approach with attention to
detail; Budget and programme management skills desirable.
·
An excellent communicator in
English. A good working knowledge of French will be an advantage.
·
Competence in the use of
standard Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Access and Power
Point); Knowledge of SAP desirable.
Terms of Employment: SIX (6) months
contract renewal based on performance and budget availability
