Egerton University Sacco Society Ltd is a
Deposit Taking Sacco regulated by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority
(SASRA) in Kenya.
It is one of the largest Saccos in
Nakuru County with membership drawn from various universities Countrywide
including Egerton, Kisii, Laikipia, Maseno and others.
As part of its growth strategy, the Board
wishes to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the
following positions: -
ICT Officer
Ref No: ICT/1/2017
Position Summary: The (ICT)
Information Communication Technology Officer will be reporting to the ICT Manager
and shall be responsible for effective operation, support, security and
continual improvement of existing business applications, computer hardware and
networks.
Roles & Key Responsibilities
1.
Coordinate
the introduction and technical operation of organizational computer
applications.
2.
Manage
the installation of new versions of the systems and troubleshoot ad-hoc user
problems in its functioning.
3.
To
contribute to the smooth operation of the Sacco’s ICT network and other ICT
equipment, as directed by the ICT Manager. This includes commissioning new
equipment, repairing and maintaining existing equipment such as desktop PCs,
laptops, printers, monitors, projectors, servers, switches and other computer
equipment.
4.
Manage
the office multi-user computer network, as well as data and telecommunication
facilities.
5.
Plan
the acquisition of specific computer hardware and software, coordinate its
introduction into the office, and manage its maintenance.
6.
Create
and maintain ICT configuration database for both hardware and software.
7.
Assist
to maintain and manage ICT infrastructure systems including WAN applications
8.
Maintain
the integrity and security of supported networks, servers, applications and
endpoints to ensure organisation is adequately secured against internal and
external threats or attacks (both physical and software security)
9.
Design
and implement Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs) and Storage
Area Network (SAN).
10.
Installation
and configuration of new computers, printers, scanners and installation of
programs, system maintenance corrective action in case of failure and
periodically updating software.
11.
Perform
daily backup operations - ensuring all required file systems and data are
successfully backed up to the appropriate media both on-site and offsite.
12.
Provide
technical support to system users.
13.
Analysis,
design, codification, testing and application of computer programmes
14.
Maintain
the ICT equipment register, to provide a detailed analysis of equipment
replacement needs and central ICT resourcing.
15.
To
uphold all Sacco’s policies, especially those regarding ICT.
16.
Coordination,
development and updating of SACCO website
17.
To
carry out other tasks as reasonably directed by the ICT Manager.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required
for this Position

Network

skills in web application development and database management

track record for database design and management in SQL

of Web server setup, deployment and management and TCP/IP Networks and

(WAN), VPN

Remote
technologies, Good knowledge of virtualization and cloud computing
technologies, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Server, MS Outlook
client, Microsoft sever/Desktop, banking systems and alternative banking
channels.

to Communicate to non-technical system users in non-technical language

Adapt
to changes in systems and procedures

Set
up and administer a network including firewalls

Co-ordinate
hardware/software service and technical support with vendors

Qualifications
·
Minimum
KCSE B plain
·
Bachelors’
degree in Computer Science/software engineering/business information technology
or its equivalent from a recognized university
·
Professional
qualification in ICT (IMIS, CICT, MSCE or MSCD or DBA)
·
Working
knowledge of Firewall management, Mobile platform and web application is an
advantage
·
Membership
in a professional association will be an added advantage
·
Certification
in web design and any IT related fields will be an added advantage
Experience
·
Aged
25 years and above.
·
A
minimum of 2 years’ experience a similar position in a busy organization, preferably
in a financial institution.
·
Wide
experience and a high level of competence in computerized information systems
and knowledge of SQL database management.
·
Practical
applications of software, database, network, telecommunications and systems.

Position
Summary: The Procurement Officer shall report
to the Chief Executive Officer.
The
position holder shall be responsible for improvement of SACCO operational
efficiency through timely and competitive acquisitions of quality goods and
services in the right quantity at the right time to enable the SACCO maximize
on its key objectives in accordance to the Public Procurement Assets and
Disposal Act, 2015.
Roles
& Key Responsibilities
The
primary roles and responsibilities of the Procurement Officer shall include but
not be limited to:-
1.
Establishing and updating procurement
policies and procedures.
2.
Ensuring competitive bidding
procedures and that administration of contracts and negotiations are
efficiently performed.
3.
Purchasing of SACCO routine items.
4.
Training user departments on
procurement procedures.
5.
Preparing and maintaining all
procurement records and archive for the required period.
6.
Ensuring efficiency in inventory
management.
7.
Secretary to the Procurement committees.
8.
Monitoring contract management by
user departments to ensure implementation of contracts as per the terms and
conditions of contract.
9.
In liaison with user departments,
preparing a consolidated annual procurement plans as per the Act and Regulations;
and
10.
Ensuring adherence to the Public
Procurement Asset & Disposal Act 2015 and the Procurement Regulations
11.
Maintain a database and relevant
information concerning the organization’s supplier e.g suppliers
qualifications, delivery times, potential developments and products and look
for interested suppliers and negotiate the best deal for the SACCO.
12.
Keeping tab of the procurement
projects and advising accordingly.
13.
Responsible for timely and accurate
procurement reports as well as advising on emerging procurement practices
14.
Liaise with Finance Department and
User department in relations to their requirements and budgetary provisions to
ensure smooth acquisition and payments for necessary goods and services of the
SACCO by processing User requisition and supplier payment requests.
15.
Certify the invoices and payment
vouchers to suppliers
16.
Advise and guide business on third
party supplier relationship
17.
Work with Suppliers on boarding and
add new suppliers as and when appropriate.
18.
Prepares and issue rejection and debriefing
letters.
19.
Prepare, publish and distribute
procurement and disposal opportunities including invitations to tenders,
prequalification documents, request for quotations and proposals and invitation
for expression of interest
20.
Develop and maintain effective
relationship with key internal and external stakeholders to understand and
interpret their requirements.
21.
Maintain an effective audit trail for
all sourcing activities
22.
Establish process indicators that
demonstrate performance against established measures.

Must have a 5(five) years relation
