Reporting to the Managing Director,
the successful candidate shall be responsible for providing strategic
management of sales activities, plan, direct and coordinate marketing of the
Corporation’s products and services to ensure targeted profitability, corporate
visibility and service delivery is achieved.
Responsibilities
·
Lead the Sales team in devising and
implementing the weekly action plans and strategies
·
Provide performance feedback for
Sales and Marketing Staff
·
Oversee market research on new
products, potential suppliers and regional market trends to inform the sales
and marketing strategies
·
Lead the prospecting for new
customers and suppliers and organize meeting with prospects
·
Commission market research and advise
on the sales opportunities and pattern to facilitate the proportioning of goods
supplied to certain regions by ensuring that the demand and consumption
patterns are considered
·
Provide insights on competitor
activities as well as daily prices of goods
·
Coordinate sales activities through
monitoring performance and facilitating any necessary support
·
Negotiate sales contracts and
partnerships with key stakeholders
·
Ensure the implementation of sales schedules
and policies
·
Ensure effective facilitation of
stock transfers to depots and across depots
·
Analyze weekly sales data from the
depots
·
Assess sales performance against
targets and recommend remedial measures for implementation Coordinate receipt
of orders from depots and organize deliveries
·
Using market research data,
facilitate the proportioning of goods supplied to certain regions by ensuring
that the demand and consumption patterns are considered
·
Oversee the monitoring market and
competitor activities Oversee the preparation and development of departmental

Approve and monitor departmental
expenditure
·
Provides oversight for all
departmental physical assets
·
Plans, assigns work, monitors work
and appraises departmental staff

Qualifications
·
Bachelors Degree in Commerce of
(Sales and Marketing) or Business Administration (Marketing)
·
Masters Degree Marketing Option
·
Certification from Chartered
Institute of Marketing (CIM)

Membership to Marketing Society of
Kenya
·
At least eight (8) years experience
in Sales or Merchandising in a busy FMCG environment with at least (3) years at
senior management level.
