Sales & Marketing Manager

Kenya National Trading Corporation is a state-owned Corporation whose mandate is to efficiently trade in quality products, ensure a balance of supply and demand in the country’s distribution networks as well as promote wholesale and retail trade in line with Kenya’s Vision 2030. The Corporation is seeking for qualified and competent individuals to fill the following vacant position:
Summary
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate shall be responsible for providing strategic management of sales activities, plan, direct and coordinate marketing of the Corporation’s products and services to ensure targeted profitability, corporate visibility and service delivery is achieved.

Responsibilities

·         Lead the Sales team in devising and implementing the weekly action plans and strategies
·         Provide performance feedback for Sales and Marketing Staff
·         Oversee market research on new products, potential suppliers and regional market trends to inform the sales and marketing strategies
·         Lead the prospecting for new customers and suppliers and organize meeting with prospects
·         Commission market research and advise on the sales opportunities and pattern to facilitate the proportioning of goods supplied to certain regions by ensuring that the demand and consumption patterns are considered
·         Provide insights on competitor activities as well as daily prices of goods
·         Coordinate sales activities through monitoring performance and facilitating any necessary support
·         Negotiate sales contracts and partnerships with key stakeholders
·         Ensure the implementation of sales schedules and policies
·         Ensure effective facilitation of stock transfers to depots and across depots
·         Analyze weekly sales data from the depots
·         Assess sales performance against targets and recommend remedial measures for implementation Coordinate receipt of orders from depots and organize deliveries
·         Using market research data, facilitate the proportioning of goods supplied to certain regions by ensuring that the demand and consumption patterns are considered
·         Oversee the monitoring market and competitor activities Oversee the preparation and development of departmental budget
·         Approve and monitor departmental expenditure
·         Provides oversight for all departmental physical assets
·         Plans, assigns work, monitors work and appraises departmental staff
·         Contributes to strategic, operational and financial decision making in the Corporation

Qualifications

·         Bachelors Degree in Commerce of (Sales and Marketing) or Business Administration (Marketing)
·         Masters Degree Marketing Option
·         Certification from Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)
·         Membership to Marketing Society of Kenya
·         At least eight (8) years experience in Sales or Merchandising in a busy FMCG environment with at least (3) years at senior management level.

Summary
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate shall be responsible for effective and efficient management of procurement and supply chain activities of the KNTC Procurement and supplies process in line with the existing internal policies and that the policies are adaptable to the changing business environment.

Responsibilities

·         Develop and implement an integrated and supportable procurement plan, strategies and procedures.
·         Plan and manage all activities involved in sourcing suppliers, procurement, quality assurance, financial, logistics and warehouse management activities.
·         Coordinate and collaborate with channel partners, such as suppliers, intermediaries, third party service providers, and internal customers.
·         Manage competitive acquisition of goods and services for trading purposes, Execution of contracts, updating and maintaining vendor database.

Summary
Reporting to the Managing Director (administratively) and to the Board (functionally), the successful candidate shall be responsible for effective and efficient strategic leadership in the management of the Corporation’s internal audit function to ensure compliance to the set systems, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

·         Manage operations of audit department to ensure achievement of set objectives and goals.
·         Prepare and manage annual work plan and budget for audit department
·         Risk facilitator for the organization
·         Act as the Secretary to audit committee

Responsibilities

·         Formulate, review and oversee the implementation of the KNTC ICT strategy, policies and procedures
·         Oversee the evaluation, consolidation and facilitating the user needs and system functionality and ensuring that ICT facilities meet these needs
·         Mentor and train new ICT support staff;
·         Develop and implement system administration plans in accordance with the Corporation’s information technology needs
