Debts Recovery Officer

The purpose of the job: To assist in the recovery of all debts, using a holistic approach to ensure that help and support is provided where possible so that litigation is a last resort.
Duties / Functions
·         Analyze bad debts based on aging and prescribe appropriate actions to retrieve all arrears from non – performing clients
·         Demand and follow up of bad debts through review of files and discussions with debtors on repayment plans.
·         Relationship management with clients on handling customers with bad debts through visits calls and emails.
·         Handling multiple client debt portfolios with diverse products; experiences and challenges.
·         Establish contacts and relationships with relevant bodies that will assist in the collection process.
·         Repossession and Disposal of Assets – The recovery officer will liaise with auctioneers and investigators to locate seize and dispose of assets of loans that have defaulted, within the law and with all notifications served upon the customer, in time.
·         Undertake any additional duties that may be prescribed by the immediate supervisor
Requirements for the Debt Collection Officer Job
·         Diploma in Co-operative Management/ banking/ finance or Credit Management
·         One year experience in debt collection field.
·         Prior interaction with a debt collection system.
·         Possess strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and analytical skills.
·         Should be a self-motivated team player who enjoys negotiating with customers for winwin situations.
·         Must have proven ability to develop relationships with agencies necessary to make recovery work successfully.
·         Must have ability to work with strict deadlines
·         Administrative and computer skills required.
·         Must be 27 to 30 years.


Micro Finance Officer

The purpose of the Job: The primary function of this Job is outreach, promotion, client assessment, intake, supervision and monitoring of clients with the intention of gradually growing and sustaining a healthy portfolio, an optimum number of clients and clients groups(as per the performance standards discussed with the supervisor by undertaking various activities in order to achieve desired SACCO objectives.
Duties / functions
·         Conduct market survey before initiating any program in a new area.
·         Conduct awareness creation and mobilization meetings.
·         Assess and select viable groups using the laid down criteria.
·         Train clients on Tai SACCO lending procedures and requirements(credit and group management)
·         Mobilization of savings among clients.
·         Ensure loan applications are done correctly.
·         Ensure loan appraisal and approval are done following set criteria and conditions.
·         Disburse loans to right borrowers and at appropriate times.
·         Ensure loan repayments are done timely and banked in Tai SACCO account monthly.
·         Ensure proper records are kept by you and the group for loans and savings.
·         Put in place mechanisms of managing arrears and default(ensure healthy portfolio at all times)
·         Provide reports on the program monthly or when needed to the Micro- finance Manager
·         Conduct training needs assessment of existing clients.
·         Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications and experience
·         Diploma in Micro-finance/Entrepreneurship/Co-operative Management
·         Certificate in Credit Management will be an added advantage
·         Computer literate
·         2 years’ experience in a busy Micro Finance Institution
·         26 to 30 years


Micro-Finance Manager

The purpose of the Job: The principal role and responsibility is to oversee the allocation of finance to the respective business owner(s), assisting in the establishment, running and supervision of the business as well as the collection of any loan repayments outstanding.
Duties/Functions
·         Develop strategy & roadmap for improving the financial performance of the Microfinance department
·         Manage the Micro-finance department Portfolio (Deposit & Credit)
·         Conduct Research and Development
·         Drive the department team to ensure that customers’ needs are met
·         Build long lasting relationships with the group members
·         Create a culture of high performance among staff within the department
·         Ensure that department’s procedures are followed to mitigate risks.
·         Coordinate Credit Appraisal & Deposit Mobilization on department level
·         Drive the actualization of financial and non-financial targets
·         Coordinate business development initiatives at the department level
·         Champion branch reporting and inter-branch dealings
·         Liaise with line agencies e.g. Government ministries, other MFIs, NGOs, Provisional administration etc. in order to facilitate Tai SACCO activities in area of operations.
·         Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications and experience
·         Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship or Micro-finance
·         Diploma in Credit Management will be an added advantage
·         At least 5 years practical working experience in a Microfinance institution.
·         Between 30 and 35 years
Knowledge and skills
·         Good communication skills, Interpersonal skills, Negotiation skills
·         Working knowledge in Product Development and Market Research
·         Group dynamics skills
