Finance & Administration
IsraAID is a non-profit,
non-governmental and apolitical humanitarian aid agency dedicated to supporting
populations in crisis around the world. Founded in 2001, the organization has
responded to crises in 39 countries, reaching over 753,000 people in 2015
alone. Today, its operations span across 17 countries and a wide number of
different sectors of expertise from both the humanitarian aid and international
development arenas.
In Kenya, IsraAID focuses primarily
in capacity building, with WASH, PSS/ Child Protection, Medical and livelihoods
programs, with and for both refugees and host populations. Additionally,
IsraAID Kenya also conducts PSS trainings in Nairobi for physical and mental
healthcare practitioners, and community volunteers in the slums.
To assist the IsraAID country office
in financial management and office administration by facilitating financial
transactions, generating transaction vouchers, maintaining accounting ledgers
and cash books, program budgeting, financial reporting, managing office petty
cash, processing payroll, general office administration/logistics, procurement,
shipping, and filing.
Responsibilities
Financial Administration:

Timely preparation of payslips and
delivering payrolls, as well as timely delivery of NHIF and income tax
payments.
·
Management and filing of bookkeeping
and receipts,
·
Timely preparation of monthly bank
reconciliation a nd complete month-end bookkeeping.
·
Cash flow and budget management.
·
Facilitating financial transactions.
·
Creating program budgets as part of
project proposals.
·
Managing petty cash.
·
Preparing annual financial reports.
Office Administration:
·
Filing of both financial and
programme documents.
·
Managing office inventory.
·
International volunteer coordination.
·
International and internal shipping.
Procurement
·
Receiving quotes and handling
procurement of supplies, equipment, etc.
Other Tasks
·
Any other duty as may be assigned
from time to time by the Country Director.

The main responsibilities are not
meant to be an exhaustive list of tasks. The need for flexibility is required
and the job holder is expected to carry out any other related duties that are
within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
Requirements
·
A bachelor’s degree in
Accounting/Finance, administration or equivalent and at least a recognised
level 2 accounting qualification e.g. CPA 2 etc.
·
Proven work experience in an INGO
environment.
·
Experience of audit of NGOs would be
advantageous.
·
Demonstrable experience in financial
reporting for donor-funded programmes.
·
Experience in budgeting for NGOs.
·
Experience in shipment and
procurement.
·
Excellent communication skills in
English (both oral & written).
·
IT skills – Excel, MS Word,
accounting packages.
·
Must be living in Nairobi.
·
Kenyan nationals only.
