Accountant Job in Kenya – Treasury

Company Background: Our Client is a fast expanding organization with revenues that are growing by 25% annually.

They currently employ approximately 2000 staff and they anticipate this number to increase by 25% annually over the next 3 to 5 years. Its employees are integral to the success of the business and are highly valued.
 
The company operates regionally in Uganda and Rwanda with plans to continue their expansion in the region.
 

The Position: Our client is looking to recruit an experienced and energetic Treasury Accountant who will be responsible for bank reconciliations, verifying cash transactions, monitoring bank balances, sales vs banking among other finance duties. 

The position will report to the Finance Manager.
 
Job Description
 
Position Title: Treasury Accountant
 
Reports To: Finance Manager
 
Supervises: Assistant Treasury Accountants
 
Location: Head Office
 
Key Responsibility Areas
·                     Cash flow update – Prepare timely & accurate cash flow forecasts.
·                     Sales v banking – Ensuring Company’s banking are appropriately & correctly done on a daily basis as per sales and any discrepancies followed up.
·                     Bank reconciliations – Ensure that bank reconciliations are performed on a timely basis & reconciling items explained & cleared promptly.
·                     Bank agent.
·                     Check and verify cash transactions and propose possible resolution for any discrepancies.
·                     Cash management system of the company and their payment mechanism. Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet operational requirements
·                     Monthly verification of bank interest charges & commissions.
·                     Monitoring bank balances & reports on the total funds available.
·                     Supervise other staff within treasury section of the finance department.

·                     Any other duties advised by management.
Required Knowledge
·                     University Degree
·                     CPA (K)
·                     Knowledge of Micros, MC and SUN Software
·                     In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel
