Planned Parenthood Global (PP Global) is the international division of Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), an international non-governmental organization working in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights. 

For over 40 years, PP Global has been working in Africa to ensure that vulnerable women and young people have access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health information and services. 

By partnering with service providers and youth champions, and helping to build local organizations and networks, PP Global works to find innovative ways to deliver critical services.
 
The Africa Regional Office of Planned Parenthood Global has an internship program aimed at developing career interests and leadership skills for young people in sexual and reproductive health and rights.

The program is expected to empower young people with skills to address sexual and reproductive health challenges in their work, to develop their self-esteem and thus advance their opportunities for career development.
 
PP Global is seeking applications from young persons interested in program management with a bias for Monitoring & Evaluation.
 
The selected candidate will support PP Global Program Learning department for a period of 3 Months with possibility of extension up to a maximum of 6 Months.

Position Purpose: The M&E Intern will assist in data collection, entry, cleaning and analysis. She/he will also support monitoring and evaluation activities for partners. 

This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya and reports to the Program Learning, Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant. 

The main roles are:
·                     Data collection
·                     Assist in facilitating supported facility assessments
·                     Assist in undertaking data quality audits
·                     Assist in general data collection
·                     Data entry, cleaning and analysis
·                     Assist in developing data entry user interfaces/screens on SPSS/STATA/Google forms
·                     Assist in the verification of data from quarterly reporting tools
·                     Assist in data entry and cleaning

·                     Assist in data reconstruction
·                     In collaboration with PLT team, analyze and make sense of both quantitative and qualitative data
·                     Filing
·                     Support in updating electronic filing system
·                     Assist in filing physical documents
·                     Documentation and dissemination
·                     Prepare zero drafts of reports from assessments
·                     Assist in identifying and documenting best practices and lessons learnt for ARO projects
·                     In collaboration with PLT, identify forums in which the team can develop and present abstracts to showcase ARO program work
·                     Other monitoring activities
·                     Assist in organizing and participate in project quarterly and internal review meetings and document proceedings therein
·                     Support the PLT team in identification of data needs
·                     Perform any other responsibilities as may be assigned as from time to time
Minimum qualifications, experience and skills
·                     Bachelor’s degree in monitoring and evaluation, applied statistics, demography, public health, sociology, anthropology, development studies, or any relevant field from a recognized university
·                     Knowledge and experience using statistical packages such as SPSS, Nvivo and Epi-Info
·                     Advanced competency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
·                     Experience in health-related research work/data collection is desirable
·                     Ability to communicate effectively in English and Swahili, both verbally and in writing
·                     Ability to write good reports in English
·                     Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact meaningfully with diverse groups of individuals from different cultural, religious and national backgrounds.
·                     Ability to maintain highest degree of confidentiality regarding all aspects of work at all times especially in relation to partner activities
