Security Investigator

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has an opening for the position of Security Investigator. The position will be available immediately.
The Incumbent will serve as an additional investigator of the Office, working in conjunction with the DEA Attaché and Special Agent. The position will increase the productivity of the Office, as the Incumbent will serve as a significant liaison with the highest level authorities of the Government of Kenya (GOK) Police, more specifically the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU), as well as other DEA offices both domestically and internationally. Incumbent will serve as an investigator responsible for conducting complex and sensitive investigations to include all facets of narcotic investigations.

Incumbent will conduct and maintain liaison with all host government police, law enforcement, and security organizations, and customs/immigration officials, including airport personnel. Incumbent will also conduct interviews with DEA Staff and/or ANU personnel, provide TDY support for VIP visits or other U.S. delegations as directed by Attaché, assist other embassy offices and USG entities as directed by the Attaché, and be available 24 hours a day to respond to any emergencies or contingencies as directed by the Attaché.

Qualifications

·         University degree in law enforcement, social sciences, security studies or humanities is required.
Officers ranked Chief Inspector of Police or above or equivalent, with five years of investigative experience with
·         Kenyan Government, Kenyan police or a private organization is required.
·         Level IV (fluent) English ability and Level III (good) Kiswahili ability are required.
·         Must have knowledge of Kenyan government documentation and procedures; criminal law including criminal procedure code; the Evidence Act; Narcotic Investigation; methods of obtaining evidence within Kenyan law.
·         Must have knowledge of word processing and e-mail.
·         Must have valid driver’s license.

Administrative Assistant

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Kenya in Nairobi has an opening for the position of Administrative Assistant. The position will be available immediately.

The incumbent serves as Administrative Assistant to the Division of Global Health Protection (DGHP) Kenya. The incumbent will require a good working knowledge of divisional responsibilities, office procedures and practices. The incumbent must have the ability to exercise judgement in determining priorities in conflicting work requirements and making decisions on matters of routine office management. The incumbent is responsible for carrying out daily administrative program support tasks to ensure smooth functioning of the program.

Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations or related field is required.
·         Minimum of 3 years progressively responsible secretarial, clerical or administrative experience is required.
·         Level IV (Fluent) English ability and Level III Kiswahili ability are required.
·         Must have knowledge of the principles of management and organization, administrative practices and procedures.
·         Must have standard knowledge in operating relevant office equipment.
·         Proficiency in Travel package/software and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
·         Must be able to apply methods and analysis and administrative guidelines to deal with irregular situations and uncommon problems, and to work effectively under time constraints.

Warehouseman
The General Services Office (GSO) has openings for the positions of Warehouseman. These positions will be available immediately.
This is one of the Warehouseman positions that require the receipt, delivery and storage of furniture and supplies and other manual duties.

Qualifications

·         Six months to one year of warehouse experience or an equivalent combination of warehouse and general labor experience is required.
·         Level I English ability and Level III Kiswahili ability is required.
·         Must be able to perform moderate physical labor over long periods and heavy physical labor for short durations. Must have experience working in a big warehouse experience.
·         Must be able to operate material handling equipment.
