DSW seeks to recruit a data assistant to be based at the coast region with frequent travels to Kilifi and Kwale counties.
This position is open to Kenyan nationals
only.
The Data Assistant is responsible for
ensuring quality in service provision, data collection, cleaning,
Management and analysis. It will involve interaction with community and health
facility data for reproductive, maternal and child health as well as HIV/
AIDS.
S/he is responsible for correctly reporting
data according to the USAID guidelines and ensuring compliance in the use of
relevant data tools
Areas of responsibility for the position
include:

Ensure
that program data from field sites have been verified and entered in the
respective programmatic databases in a timely manner, correctly and accurately
ready for analysis and Reports generation.
·
Participate
in identifying training needs and capacity building for project staff and
partners.
·
Provide
support for data collection, analysis, dissemination, and use to the project
staff
·
Participate
in routine data quality exercises with the project coordinator
·
Identify
and immediately notify the M&E coordinator of any issues with incorrect,
questionable data reported to the project.
·
Participate
with M&E Team to provide technical support to program staff in the area of
M&E;
·
Ensure
that appropriate, data collection tools are available in all supported
facilities and implementing partners and maintain clear, updated tracking
record of tools;
·
Ensure
that project data tallies with county data;
·
Perform
data quality checks on regular schedule and with methods agreed with M & E
officer
·
Assist
in data cleaning, aggregation and basic data analysis as directed by the
M&E officer Participate in regular Routine Data Quality audits.
·
Work
together with M&E Team to provide regular, scheduled feedback to project
staff.
·
Perform
other program related duties as required by the supervisor from time to time.
Requirements
·
Degree
in statistics, mathematics, social sciences or community
development.
·
Two
years’ experience in RMCH or HIV/AIDS programming
·
Solid
experience in data quality exercises and data entry.
·
Proficiency
in MS-Excel
·
Training
and capacity building skills.
·
Ability
to meet strict deadlines.
·
Ability
to work independently and to proactively identify and address data issues.
·
Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills.
