Finance & Accounts Officer
Job Grade – NCIA 5
2 Positions
The Nairobi Center for International Arbitration is a State Corporation established under the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration Act No. 26 of 2013 with the primary mandate to promote the practice of international commercial arbitration in Kenya and other forms of alternative dispute resolution in the domestic arena.
The Center offers dispute administration services and facilities for the conduct of arbitration, mediation and other alternative dispute resolution mechanism.
An officer at this level will be responsible to the Senior Finance/Accounts Officer

Qualifications

·         Relevant working experience of at least three (3) years in a comparable position in a public or private organization
·         Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or its equivalent qualifications;
·         Certificate in computer applications from recognized applications.
Or,
·         Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: -Commerce (Accounting/Finance), Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Executive Secretary
Job Grade – NCIA 5
The Nairobi Center for International Arbitration is a State Corporation established under the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration Act No. 26 of 2013 with the primary mandate to promote the practice of international commercial arbitration in Kenya and other forms of alternative dispute resolution in the domestic arena.
The Center offers dispute administration services and facilities for the conduct of arbitration, mediation and other alternative dispute resolution mechanism.
An Executive Secretary will be attached to the office of the Registrar. The Officer will be responsible to the Registrar.

Qualifications

·         Served in the grade of Senior Office Administrator or any relevant and comparable position in the public service or any other reputable organisation for a minimum period of three (3) years;
·         Diploma/Higher Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution
Or,
·         Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: -Secretarial Studies, Office Management, Business and Office Management, or a Social Science with a diploma in secretarial studies or any other relevant degree from a recognised institution;
·         Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution (Windows, Ms-Word, Ms-Excel, Ms-Access and Internet)

Senior Office Administrator

The Center offers dispute administration services and facilities for the conduct of arbitration, mediation and other alternative dispute resolution mechanism.
A Senior Office Administrator will be responsible to the Officer to whom he/she is assigned

Qualifications

·         Served in the grade of Office Administrator for a minimum period of three (3) years;
·         Diploma/Higher Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
Or,
·         The following qualifications from the Kenya National Examination Council;
1.   Shorthand III (100 w.p.m.);
2.   Typewriting III (minimum 50 w.p.m.)/Computerized Document Processing III;
3.   Office Management III/Office Administration and Management III;
4.   Business English III /Communications II;
5.   Commerce II;
6.   Office management II/Office Administration and Management III, and
7.   Secretarial Duties II;
·         Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution; Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution (Windows, Ms-Word, Ms-Excel, Ms-Access and Internet)

Driver I
Job Grade – NCIA 8
The Nairobi Center for International Arbitration is a State Corporation established under the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration Act No. 26 of 2013 with the primary mandate to promote the practice of international commercial arbitration in Kenya and other forms of alternative dispute resolution in the domestic arena.
The Center offers dispute administration services and facilities for the conduct of arbitration, mediation and other alternative dispute resolution mechanism.
An officer at this level will be responsible administratively to the head Human Resource and Administration Unit and functionally to the officer authorising or accountable for a specific journey

Qualifications

·         Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D plain or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
·         Served in the grade of Driver I for a minimum period of three (3) years.
·         Passed Occupational Test 1 for Drivers;
·         Valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for the class(s) of vehicle(s) the officer is required to driver;
·         Defensive Driving Certificate from the Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
·         Adequate knowledge of the Highway Code;
·         Attended a Refresher Course for drivers not lasting less than one (1) week within every three (3) years at Kenya
·         Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KHIBT) or any other recognized Institution;
·         Valid certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police Service;
·         Attended a First-Aid Certificate Course lasting less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or Kenya
·         Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KHIBT) or any other recognized Institution;
·         Demonstrated outstanding professional competence and integrity in work performance and results.

Human Resource & Administration
Job Grade – NCIA 5
The Nairobi Center for International Arbitration is a State Corporation established under the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration Act No. 26 of 2013 with the primary mandate to promote the practice of international commercial arbitration in Kenya and other forms of alternative dispute resolution in the domestic arena.
The Center offers dispute administration services and facilities for the conduct of arbitration, mediation and other alternative dispute resolution mechanism.
An officer at this level will report to the Senior Human Resource and Administration Officer.

Qualifications

·         Served in the grade of Human Resource Management for a minimum period of three (3) years;
·         Diploma in any of the following disciplines: -Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
