The AFEX Team is dedicated to ensuring clients have peace of mind that their projects will run on schedule and to budget, with their personnel being cared for to a high international standard.  

AFEX wishes to recruit competent, innovative and self-driven persons to fill the following positions to be based in South Sudan.  The project will run for 6 months with a possibility of extension.  

Upon extension, the candidate may be considered for permanent employment. 

Senior Electrical Engineer
 
Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for execution of the design, delivery and construction of a variety of Company projects from start to finish. 

Organise and oversee the team and ensure the project is completed in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

The successful candidate must be able to design, develop and maintain electrical control systems to British and European specifications, ensuring quality, reliability and safety.  

The job will necessitate time spent working in remote and logistically challenging locations.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:
  • Degree in Electrical engineering
  • 10 years proven experience as Electrical Engineer
  • Fully conversant with UK BS 7671: 2008 17th edition IEE wiring regulations
  • City & Guilds 2391-20 level 3: Certification of Electrical Installation (Design, Erection and Verification of Electrical Installations) (or equivalent)
  • City & Guilds 2330 level 3 (or equivalent)
  • Fully conversant with the Application of Health and Safety and Electrical Principles
  • Fully conversant in International Quality, Health, and Safety (QHSE) Standards
  • Excellent AutoCAD skills, specializing in electrical design, both schematic and engineering
  • Previous experience (or fast learner) with bespoke electrical design software
  • Ability to coordinate a team of professionals at all levels to achieve the best results
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience in load calculations, cable sizing and power distribution design
  • Demonstrate competency in single and three phase electrical installations
  • Ability to specify, install, and commission three phase synchronized generator power plants
  • Ability to work effectively in a team based, multi-cultural environment
  • Capacity to deliver timely results, under pressure, with minimum supervision

Civil Engineer
 
Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and supervision of the delivery of all civil and related works pertaining to the construction of a mobile containerised camp from start to finish. 

Organize and oversee the civils team and ensure the project is completed in a timely and efficient manner without exceeding budget.  

The job will necessitate time spent working in remote and logistically challenging locations.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:
  • BS/MA in Civil Engineering
  • 10 years proven experience as civil engineer
  • Well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar
  • Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc.
  • Experienced user of site surveying tools including theodolite and total station.
  • Project management and supervision skills
  • Analytical mind and great organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under time pressure.

Project Manager

  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures; material, logistical, & project management principles
  • Be naturally confident, polite, respectful and diplomatic when dealing with the community; government officials; and the client. You will ensure all subcontractors follow the same ethos.

  • Fully conversant in International Quality, Health, and Safety (QHSE) Standards
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office

Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible the entire purchasing of the project, manage all AFEX supplier contracts, and oversee procurement, in accordance with AFEX Policies and SOPs. 

Work hand in hand with QHSE to build and maintain an affordable standard of quality in the supply chain that is above the market standard and acceptable to our clients.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:
  • A Degree in Purchasing or relevant field
  • 5 years performing a similar role.
  • Professional qualifications in Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.
  • International experience with good knowledge of regional market will be an added advantage
