Job Title: Senior Accountant

Our client is an international shipping line company that offers fleet, special cargo, logistics and container carrier and tracking services. 


They seek to hire a senior accountant who will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of all financial documents related to the company, implementing financial strategies created by management and advising on investment decisions.

Key duties and responsibilities
  • Review and develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies for the set up.
  • Support CFO in ensuring that intercompany cost allocations are in line with management agreements and transfer pricing policy.
  • Perform financial analysis and reporting to management as needed.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and annual budget execution reports
  • Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Evaluate computerized accounting systems and provide recommendations to IT team for performance improvements.
  • Perform project cost forecasts/budgets, cost tracking, monitoring and controls.
  • Responsible for timely monthly consolidated financial statements, payments, cash-flow management reporting for submission to management.
  • Monitor expenditures, analyze revenues and expenses and determine budget variances and report the same to management.
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
  • Reconciliation of bank statements
  • Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion.
  • Provide guidance to other Accountants when needed.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
  • Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date records of all financial transactions
  • Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.
  • Computation and payment of staff salaries on a monthly basis
  • Review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures.
Qualifications and other job requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
  • CPA/ACCA qualifications preferred
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in financial & management accounting particularly in Oil & Gas-Offshore Construction/Marine Industry is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in audit and costing is advantageous.
  • Excellent strategic planning skills and able to interact with all levels.
  • Good MS Office skills particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Working experience in SAP is highly regarded.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural diverse environment and under pressure;
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive and tactful manner.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality involving, staffing concerns, student matters, and internal/external correspondence.
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) along with the accounting software.
  • Ability to plan, manage and follow through on assignments and communicate at all levels of the organization in a timely and professional manner.

They seek to hire a human resource manager who will be directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function.

Key duties and responsibilities
  • Reviewing, developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Reporting to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
  • Maintaining an organizational charts and employee directory.
  • Ensuring both legal and statutory compliance by the company and employees.
  • Establishing and maintaining department records and reports including employee files, attendance and leave schedules, etc.
  •  Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars.

Qualifications and other job requirements
  • BS/MS degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Should have at least 5 years of experience managing day to day HR operations and development of short term and long term strategies initiatives.
  • Should be a holder of a higher diploma in Human Resource Management and a member of IHRM.
  • Proven working experience as HR manager in the shipping freight or logistics sectors is preferred

  • Overseeing operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives and supervising the staff in the department.
  • Designing strategies and long term business plans that the company should take to increase business productivity.
  • Maintaining the financial health of the organization.

  • Managing the company's financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.

  • BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
  • Should possess a minimum of 8 years of experience and at least 5 years of experience4 in financial management I the shipping freight services sector.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA/CPA (K) or similar will be considered a plus.
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
  • Extensive understanding of financial trends and operations within the shipping and freight industries
  • Proficient user of finance software
