Bancassurance Accountant
Reporting to the Finance and
Administration Manager, the job holder will be responsible for monthly analysis
of both trade payables and receivables, reconciliation of the general ledger,
bank reconciliation, cost management, periodic budget variance review and
financial statement audit preparation.
Key Responsibilities
·
Verify, allocate, post and reconcile
accounts payables and receivables.
·
Prepare and post journal entries
which includes expenditure allocation.
·
Ensure proper accounting and
reporting of both revenue and expenditure items
·
Track expenditure as per budget and
analyze and report any significant variance
·
Account analysis and reconciliation
on all ledger accounts
·
Support audits by internal auditors,
external auditors, and Regulators (IRA, CBK KRA). To follow up all issues
raised in audits and inspections reports and resolve them.
·
Ensure timely reconciliation of all
accounts receivables and payables
·
Manage trade debtors and creditors
ensure compliance with agreed payment timelines.
·
Ensure adherence to quarterly closure
procedures with all underwriters on accounts payables and receivables.
·
Ensure proper controls around credit
and adherence to credit policy and guidelines
·
Manage administrative functions as
considered necessary from time to time
·
Ensure compliance with IFRS/IAS,
Companies Act, and Taxation Act, IRA guidelines and the Company’s policies and
procedures.
Qualifications
·
University degree in Business with
specialization in Finance and/or Accounting
·
Professional Qualification (CPA,
ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
·
At least 3 years’ accounting
experience in a busy Insurance/Bancassurance environment.
·
Sound knowledge of the Insurance
industry and regulatory guidelines.
·
Working knowledge of TurnQuest
Business Suite with high proficiency in MS office suite
·
Understanding and practical
experience dealing with taxation issues and KRA compliance requirements
·
Conceptual and Analytical Skills:
Flair with figures, and strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret
financial information.

Accuracy and attention to detail
·
Excellent, high quality
interpersonal, presentation, problem solving, negotiation skills with the
ability to positively and clearly communicate with a variety of constituents.

Investment Banking Analyst
Reporting to the Transactor –
Equity/Debt Markets, the position will be responsible for the origination,
execution of investment banking transactions, preparing financial models,
reports and performance metrics the investment banking team.
Key Responsibilities
·
Analysing and synthesizing financial
and operating information about companies and sectors in order to gain insights
and develop opportunities for clients.
·
Building detailed financial models in
support of debt and equity investment banking transactions.
·
·
Perform valuation analyses using
various methodologies including discounted cash flow and market multiples.
·
Originating development of marketing
materials in support of client presentations.
·
Drafting client deliverables such as
information memoranda and term sheets
·
Participating in the execution of
investment banking transactions by developing responsive and innovative
transaction structures in support of investment banking transactions.
·
Undertaking detailed economic,
sectorial and company research and analysis in support of investment banking
transactions.
·
Attend client meetings in support of
origination and execution of investment banking transactions.
Qualifications
·
University Degree preferably in a
business related field.
Professional qualifications (CFA/KIB/ACIB/CPA/ACCA, NSE ATS Certificate) or MBA is an added advantage.

analyst in the with experience in the following areas:
1.
2 years’ experience developing and
updating of financial models and valuations.
2.
2 years’ experience undertaking
Research on assigned industries or sectors.

Experience in Investment Banking/
Finance/ Advisory is an added advantage
·
Demonstrate sound knowledge of
Brokerage and Advisory business environment, regulations and operations.
·
Demonstrate an understanding of both
fundamental and technical analysis of a company
·
Excellent knowledge of the fixed income
and equities market.
·
Conceptual and Analytical Skills:
Flair with figures, and strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret
financial information
·
Excellent, high quality
interpersonal, presentation, problem solving, negotiation skills with the
ability to positively and clearly communicate with a variety of constituents.
·
Ability to network through all open
channels with large technological dependency for the target market.
·
Proven excellent planning,
organization and execution skills.
·
A good understanding of Risk, Credit
policies and procedures.
