Admin Assistant

The University invites applications from suitable, qualified candidates to fill the position of Administrative Assistant Grade C.  REF: PU/ADV/27/5/2017
This is an entry level position in the University to this cadre and appointment is on permanent and pensionable
terms or on a two (2) year renewable performance-based contract depending on age, citizenship and any other
reason.

Qualifications

·         Applicants must have a Bachelors degree in any field from a recognized institution.
·         Candidates with relevant experience will have an added advantage

Responsibilities

·         The successful candidates duties will include and not be limited to
·         Processing student examination data
·         Compiling, processing and maintaining students’ academic records including preparation of summaries for school boards and transcripts for individual students.
·         Record keeping and minutes taking of School committee meetings and hence serve as the secretary.
·         Update and chase delegated tasks to ensure progress to deadlines
·         Arranging and preparing for School meetings
·         Provide general administrative and clerical support including mailing, scanning, faxing and copying. maintain a good filing system for documents generated scheduling and coordinating of meetings,
·         Assist in communication with staff/ students and other Stakeholders
·         Coordinate general office services
·         Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
Skills
·         Applicants must be computer literate and have knowledge of operating standard office equipment with demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of administrative and office support duties.
·         Excellent verbal communication skills
·         Minutes taking and writing skills
·         Ability to prioritize projects and attention to detail
