Our client, Direct Pay Online, provides online and reservations payment solutions to regional Africa’s hospitality industry with global operations.
They are looking for a Marketing Assistant to build, maintain and establish the company brand strategy and company messages.
The incumbent will be based in their Nairobi office.
Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Preparing and reporting back monthly on performance statistics for all digital communications across all channels, using these statistics to influence future digital activity.
·         Acting as a brand guardian in terms of look and feel of online communications as well as tone of voice of copy with the rest of the Marketing Communications team
·         Overseeing Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaigns monitoring their performance and return on investment.
·         Using the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to maximise online marketing opportunities.
·         Managing the company’s email marketing campaigns.
·         Managing the organisations Social Media accounts ensuring all copy is relevant for the different platforms.
·         Managing the content diary for social media content.
·         Keeping up to date with changes and advances in social media and advising on new channels and approaches to adopt.
·         Monitoring social media for company mentions and engaging with customers where relevant.
·         Managing the production of marketing materials, including leaflets, posters, flyers, newsletters, e-newsletters
·         Writing and proofreading copy
o Blog proofreading
o Liaising with designers and printers
o Organising photo shoots
o Arranging the effective distribution of marketing materials
·         Organising events such as conferences, seminars, receptions and exhibitions
·         Sourcing and securing sponsorship
·         Conducting market research, for example using customer questionnaires and focus groups
·         Contributing to, and developing, marketing plans and strategies
·         Evaluating marketing campaigns
·         Monitoring competitor activity
·         Supporting the marketing manager and other colleagues
·         Interact with sales department, collect data and feedback on quality of leads generated by marketing campaigns
Person Specification, qualifications and skills
·         A natural marketing person, with excellent PR and Online marketing skills
·         Widely networked within the local (and ideally international) tourism industry
·         Excellent advertising campaign planning and execution
·         Well-presented individual with good interpersonal and communication skills
·         Well organised individual and excellent event organising skills
·         Good understanding of HTML coding and Photoshop will be an added advantage
·         Google analytical skills
·         Good market research skills
·         Good understanding of marketing terminologies and their applications in B2B
·         A strong team player
·         Good web, social media and marketing skills
·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity
·         A degree in Sales and Marketing, Tourism/Hospitality from a recognised institution or equivalent experience.
·         Previous experience in tourism will be an added advantage
